i got a 04 marauder im gettn a rattle noise from seems like timing area,dwn by pwr steering pump its when i let it set for several hours it does not do it all the time im thinkn timing chain noise anyone had that

Might be the tensioners... need audio....

thats what im thinkn tentioner so im going to probably do chains to i think. while im there i was woundering what cams would cost and if they would be worth the money for the power increase

Have you done any other mods to the car?

If not, I'd start with a good tune from Lidio or Reinhart first, and then continue from there.

Are you are talking startup rattle that lasts for a second then goes away? If so, thats normal on cold starts til the tensioners pump up.

Mine and Twin03's does that but it sounds like it comes from the top of the motor when started up and then goes away after a few seconds. I def notice it more when the car sits for a long period of time (days to weeks).

yes that it like u just destrived it may not do it everytime even if i let it sit but i think we on same page. i was gone do timing chains but it dont seem to bad just when u round a croud:(.any suggestions im thinkn like a better oil filter (hum)i use castrol oil 10/40.i well i must got a week tensioner or guide u think just askn . thats like a 6 hour job so i dont want to go there if i can help it

10w40? Engine calls for 5w20, try a thinner oil with a motorcraft filter and see what you get.
