Has anyone found somewhere to get chrome mesh to fill in the narrow open area under the grill? there are like 4 or 5 vertical posts....I saw a grill made for the lower grill on camaros.they are only 3ft x 21/2.in....I think we need about 4ft x 3in....there is one place I found that sells what looks like it might work.comes in a piece 8in48in.would have tobe cut in half...I thing a little chrome under there might look good....$60

Several years ago DEFYANT came up with a mod that uses readily available aluminum rain gutter mesh from Lowe's or Home Depot. The width and height of one gutter section is perfect and it goes right into place. Just a couple bucks tops. Of course, it is not chromed; but the mesh still looks fine. I believe several others have used this technique.

I have been using 1/8 inch by 1/8 inch mesh I found in a gross of old military medical packs...and have done the rain gutter mesh too...like them both...
Aks FreddieH about the FreddieH mod. I'll take a pic of mine later today.

This was from FreddieH, he was giving them out at MV8. It was chrome, I gave it 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of semi-gloss black. No modifications involved, and there is no way it can come loose. Took about 5 minutes to install. If something knocks this out, you have more to worry about than just the mesh piece.

If you get 2 more pieces of the same gutter guard you can do this.

Damn, now that's a lot of mesh! That would keep Hondas and kids tricycles from flying up into you radiator.

I did the same mod to the upper grill as well. I found a larger sheet of the same material on some ricer website and cut it to fit and attached it with the nut from the Mercury emblem and some well placed dabs of JB WELD. Looked awesome, wish I had taken a pic of it.

I am considering making the under screen powercoated Black.
I would think there would be to bright under there. JMHO.

You can't see it looking at the front head on. I had to lay down to get that picture.
