So when I bought the car a few months back I swapped out the orings in the EATC just because it seemed like an easy preventative. So I did that and all worked fine. Then a few days ago the blend door actuator went out and the temp wouldn't change, only stuck on cold. So I did the self diagnostic which showed code 51 (sunload sensor) and code 24 (blend door actuator). So I bought a new acutator today and have it installed. Checked everything and while it works (and the other one didn;t) to change temps, now its stuck in defrost and floor. I listened for any vacuum leaks and checked the hoses into the eatc, as well as where the join by the passenger floor, and then behind the eatc where they go into the canistors and all looks good. The only vacuum sound I can hear is in that hole beside the eatc unit, where the white hose connects up to. It does have vacuum through the hole, but the hose isn;t leaking anywhere...so is that normal.

Any ideas on this?

Ok, so I restarted the car, turned everything on and then off and now it switches positions like it should. However I noticed that When I put the temp on hot ( say 90) and then auto, no air comes out at all for about a minute, then it comes on medium-low through defrost and floor, nothing through vent. Is this normal?? The temp is only 65 here, so at 90 I would think it should come on full blast...

Do you still have the sun load sensor error?

I would figure out the sunload sensor problem first. If your security light isn't flashing when you lock the doors then the sensor is disconnected. Pull up the dash trim and make sure it's properly connected. I don't know what the system does without the sensor but it should be an easy one to eliminate.

Well I was getting that code before taking anything apart as well. I cleared it, then when I fixed it I forgot to plug it back in (as I soon realized my autolamps were always on! lol) so I replugged it back in and will recheck again, but since it was giving it out before the fix when it was plugged in don't think this is gonna resolve it.

My more saddening part though is on auto my car won't warm up, if I put it on auto and the car is hot it will cool down, but if its cold in the car (like tonight) and I put it on auto, nothing happens...no air anywhere. However if I put it to vent or defrost/floor etc and manually adjust it it works just as it should... :(
