View Full Version : Noise in my headliner

I have a clicking noise almost directly above my head as I drive down the road. It only happens when moving. If I touch the headliner it stops. Has anyone else had noise? Oh yea its in a 03 MM without a sunroof.

You check all the plastic trim pieces and the overhead console? Unless the headliner was taken down and someone left something up there, it shouldn't make any noises.

I'm in the process of putting it back up. I havnt found any real problems yet, other than some type of factory calking. It looks like they put on to much and it has pulled away and rubbing on its self.
I think I bought a "Friday" car!

I had that problem till I took my sunglasses out of there. It took me a week to figure it out, drove me crazy.

Our SB has done this for a couple years. I think the glue in one spot let loose and now it rattles. Not much you can do about it unless you take it down and re-glue it.

It seems to be the glue that was the problem. I got the remaining glue off of the roof and shaved it down on the headliner. No more noise! Sorry my pic is so small.
