FRONT SUSPENSION SERVICE PROCEEDURE:
Spring/Strut Assembly*:
Turn off Air Suspension, remove wheel/tire.
Remove 3 nuts on top of Spring/Strut Assemby (but NOT the center one) (22 lb-ft)
Remove the Caliper Bracket (118 lb-ft)
Remove the Rotor
Remove the upper Sway Bar Link attachment (46 lb-ft) – use hex feature on stud to keep the stud from turning during removal.
Remove the lower Sway Bar Link attachment (46 lb-ft) – use hex feature on stud to keep the stud from turning during removal.
Remove ABS wire harness clips from Upper Arm and Hub Assembly
Remove upper Ball Joint Nut (111 lb-ft) – use hex feature (Allen socket) on stud to keep the stud from turning during removal.
Remove lower Strut Nut (166 lb-ft)
Remove Spring/Strut Assembly.
To reinstall, reverse procedure.
*In all cases, the factory manual states that all nuts removed need to be replaced. I just used some blue LocTite on them and torqued them to factory specs when reinstalled.
Upper Control Arm*:
Turn off Air Suspension, remove wheel/tire.
Remove Spring/Strut Assembly (see above)
Remove 2 Nuts attaching arm to frame (111 lb-ft)
To reinstall, reverse procedure – DO NOT torque 2 Nuts to frame until weight of the vehicle is on the suspension. (I just jacked up each corner to compress the suspension prior to torquing nuts.) – Check alignment.
*In all cases, the factory manual states that all nuts removed need to be replaced. I just used some blue LocTite on them and torqued them to factory specs when reinstalled.
Lower Control Arm*:
Turn off Air Suspension, remove wheel/tire.
Remove lower Ball Joint Nut (111 lb-ft)
Remove lower Strut Nut (166 lb-ft)
Remove the Nut from the Alignment Cam Bolt (DO NOT attempt to remove Cam Bolts at this time)
Remove 3 bolts from rear Control Arm attachment to Frame
Remove Steering Rack Nuts (76 lb-ft)
Remove Steering Rack Studs (13 lb-ft) and move Rack upwards to access Cam Bolts)
Remove Cam Bolts and lower Control Arm
To reinstall, reverse procedure – DO NOT torque Cam Bolt Nuts until weight of the vehicle is on the suspension. (I just jacked up each corner to compress the suspension prior to torquing nuts).
If new Control Arm is being used, torque Bushing Retaining Nut (the bolt that goes through the rear bushing) to 129 lb-ft if 21 mm nut or 148 lb-ft if 24 mm nut. Perform alignment.

Lower Ball Joint to Wheel Knuckle Nut: 111
Lower Control Arm Bushing Nut (21 mm nut): 129
Lower Control Arm Bushing Nut (24 mm nut): 148
Upper Control Arm to Crossmember Nuts and Bolts: 111
Stabilizer Bar Link Nuts: 46
Stabilizer Bar Bracket to Frame: 46
Strut to Crossmember Upper Nuts: 22
Strut to Lower Arm Nut and Flag Bolt: 166
Wheel Bearing and Hub to Wheel Knuckle Bolts: 74
Caliper Anchor Plate to Wheel Knuckle Bolts: 118
Steering Gear to Crossmember Stud Nuts: 76
Steering Gear to Crossmember Stud: 13
Strut top stud Nut: 37
Tire Rod End to Wheel Knuckle: 59
