hey guys, just looking to swap out brakes. the mm has got such a soft drop to the floor type pedal. I made the mistake last time with a cheaper caliper. any suggestions on how to get better braking and pedal feel? I am not looking to spend a ton so unfortunately the 14in upgrade out of the picture. had r1 concepts rotors and pads which I liked, has any tried their calipers?

last and least are the cobra brakes about the same in price. thought someone a while back just replaced brackets for the caliper and rotors to fit.

thanks guys. any help or suggestions are really appreciated.

I'd go with stainless steel brake lines from TCE (a site vendor).

Then......

Contact the guys at KNS Brakes (also a site vendor) for their recommendations on calipers, pads and rotors.

SS lines from TCE should help with the pedal feel. Never had an issue with the OEM calipers. Many here use Hawk brake pads and have had good luck.

thanks. I know those lines are pricey but guess I need to. I was actually thinking or returning to factory calipers. I had hawks in the past, and remember them wearing very quickly (could have been my young lead foot though) how do they seem for anyone running them now? thanks.

I will contact them tomorrow. thanks a lot. how about brake fluid? I have seen some guys recommending different types. the mm is a daily driver. thanks again for the awesome leads!

Any DOT 4 brake fluid will work just fine. I run several Auto Cross events each year. In the spring I try and flush through some fresh fluid and I just use whatever is on the shelf at O'Reilly Auto Parts and have never had any issues. The brakes would have to get extremely hot in order to boil the brake fluid.

I just bought and installed front/back slotted vented rotors from brakemotive.com with pads all of which I love for $189!
