A while back there was a thread on fixing a sagging rear bumper, there was a quick fix and also a more permanent repair, does anyone remember this, or does anyone know how I could go about fixing this ? thanks

Could try Travis. He has a nice set up. I have his bumper sag fix and it looks great.

Give Travis a shout.

i have a fix too, I have a full pictorial, it also addresses the buckling behind the rear wheel wells on the rear bumper cover too, cost me 12 bucks and an afternoon.
I'll be making a thread soon.

The quick fix is drilling a hole in the bumper and a zip tie.

Two zip ties and a small slit in the bottom of the rear bumper. Problem solved

You can use spit, chewing gum, duck tape or chicken wire also... but it will look like a$$.

Travis has a nice setup.

Can't see what is not visible by the proguard... But yes, an over engineered bracket for the sake of holding up a couple ounces of plastic is an option.

Don't get me wrong, Travis makes some sweet stuff, but overkill is overkill.
