I know Justbob has done plenty of wet sanding and buffing on his black MM. His looks great.
I don't know if he has wet sanded his whole car.

With todays tools and techniques unless you have a heavy case of orange peel there is no need for wet sanding. It is do-able but I highly advise using a paint thickness gauge before you start, there isn't a whole lot of clear coat on these cars.

Clay bar and Croftgate does a great job.

Ditto on the thin paint, that 70 charger had enamel paint from the factory.
You can use 3m light cutting compound and machine it with a Porter cable hand buffer , or a Dewalt buffer set at 1800 rpm with a foam waffle pad. Wool pads can do damage if not used properly.[ to much hand pressure ] . A quick fix is to hand apply Mc Guires number 7 . this hides flaws pretty good. Good luck from the Buff Master
