Anyone know what the best way is to remove the bracket that held up the factory subwoofer box? I'm trying to fit a slightly larger enclosure in there and it seems I'd be able to gain a few inches of clearance if I take that out... I'd rather avoid having to go in with an angle grinder if I can.
Are there nuts or bolts on the top shelf on the inside of the car? it looks like it has some kind of giant rivet or spot weld or something... Or am I pretty much stuck cutting it off/bending it out of the way?

take out back seat and go under shelf cover with a hand wrench

there are four nuts you take off and it falls right out, there on the shelf in the back

do not cut anything. take out the backseat>backrest>brakelight>rear deck/speaker grill to reach the bolts. while your there dynamat the flimsy steel panel and throw some aftermarket speakers in ;)

what jwibbity said. Did that in my first mm, didn't take all that long and didn't need to remove the light. But if you go the new speaker/dynamat route, yeah, you'll want to put in the extra effort.
281MERC: how do you like those Alpines? I installed a pair of component 5.25's in a friends Camry and they sound insane for only being hooked up to a deck. Been thinking about getting these for the mm.
