I'm at 7600 miles. Since I've owned the car the Air bag light sometimes comes on at start up and stays on. It's rare but bugs me. I've made three dealer visits (they are good folks- no flames please) and they can't replicate the problem. Today I took to them for an underdrives and MMX install and the light came on when I started the car. Since it normally resets upon restart, I left it idling for them so they could see I wasn't crazy. They scanned it and everything's fine- no codes- the light is just on. Anyone seen this before? Dealer is puzzled. Me too.

That's weird Dan. I'm not much of an electrician, but that almost sounds like a small break in a wire somewhere. Intermitant contacts are always so much fun..

But, the mechanics at John Eagle are pretty good. hmmm...

My thought too, Tom. It seems to happen more often when it rains or i haven't driven the car for 5 or 6 days...Very odd. Gainey and his folks will fix it but I'd like to offer them some assistance if possible.

The airbag light in my T-bird lit up one day after parking in the hot sun for a number of hours...dealer had to replace the clockspring...

I had the same problem in a car not long ago. Turns out it was the "gold" electrical contact points at the bumper expanding and contracting, which of course meant they were not making contact at certain times.

Don't ask me anymore about it, I am not a tech. That is simply what they told me after they fixed the problem.

I had the same problem... eventually, the light stayed on and the power seats stopped working.

Problems was in a poorly routed wire harness under the.. drivers (I think) seat.

Yep! :( :(

This is happening to me since the day she was adopted.

In an earlier thread, I asked about this and the forum told me to take her in for a check up.

She has 2400 miles on her and the light is still shining. At 3000 I plan to take her in for her first check up which will list:

1. Air bag light on 100% of the time

2. Idle speed @ 500-550 RPM (after K&N and Flowmaster 40's)

3. Driver door key pad security code entry doesn't work.

4. Change the semi-synthetic oil to Mercury spec.

Kurly-on the filter they will request that you put back the original Marauder filter back into the air box and that the K&N filter should not be used cause they say that the filter allows too much air in the system (????). Yes I was dumb fonded with that answer...

John Eagle found a loose connection in the drivers side rear air bag in mine. Took them several minutes to isolate, but they found it and fixed it under warranty without even having to be asked! Great service department.

Mine started about three months after I got my car. It would come on and do it for days and then stop. Then it would start again. It has been on constantly now for the last two months whenever I drive it. I have not been driving it lately. When I start it now it still does it. When I start driving it again this spring I will take it to the dealer and have them look at it. Just to let you know, our cars aren't they only ones that do this. My co-workers have different Fords and they do it too. When it flashes it flashes a code. This is the trouble code that the dealer will use to fix it.

My airbag light came on and it took a couple weeks for the dealer to fix it. First they replaced the sensor in the passenger seat, which involved sending it to an upholstery shop. When this didn't make the light go out, they replaced the main module. No problems since.

4. Change the semi-synthetic oil to Mercury spec.

 The factory fill (Mercury spec) oil IS a semi-synthetic...

Thanks for the help gentlemen- the module was replaced. The light's out now but I'll reserve my "IT'S FIXED!" dance until I get some more miles on her. However, the underdrives and MMX rock!!- Very happy!
