So I know a lot of people say it's easy to do yourself but, I don' want to risk it so I took the car to the local stereo install place to have my HID foglights and headlights installed and they guy told me he would have to take the front facia and bumper off to install either of the lights. Guy said it would cost up to $500. That sort of blew my mind. Is that true do you have to take the front of the car off?

No, all you need to do is put it on jacks and you remove a piece under the bumper cover and you can get to housing easy
Headlights are even easier. They come out by themselves with removing the three bolts that hold them in. You *Can* remove the grill to make it easier to remove them and run the wires.
It is very simple
Hids are a piece of cake to install. 500!? wtf
- I would say drive it to me and I would do it for free but your way too far

oh my god you are getting ***** with that price.... 500 dollars to have really crappy light output, sign me up!
The headlights are 3 bolts each and they slip out. They might get caught on the grille or bumper so just see where it hits and push things out of the way.
The fog lights are 4 bolts each, it helps to take the wheels off and jack the car up so you can really get in there.... Obviously the fog light method requires some modification, depending on what bulbs you use different things have to be done....
Tell me you didn't buy 8000k+ bulbs

$500.00!!! I would not let them touch my car since they clearly don't know what they are doing!
PM me if your running into any issues.
HIDs for the headlights & foglights are for the most part an easy install.

I didn't get 8k lights I got 6k for both the fog and the heads. I figured once the guy was saying he would have to take off the front of the car he fundamentally didn't understand what we was doing. Guess I'll have to talk to some friends of mine. See if one of them can help me with it. Thanks everyone.

you know, its unbelievable how many times i hear of a shop raping people on HID installs. here is the real break down....
HID kits bought by the shops are usually the cheapest ebay kits that cost them about $50-60 shipped
HID install is USUALLY plug and play, there is really no hard labor involved. by an experienced shop, it should take them no joke about 15 minutes for a standard install
although marauder fogs require some extra work, they do not require bumper to be removed or $500 in labor lol

Def run away!
If you were closer I'd help you out with the install.
Headlights are a breeze to do. I did a write-up the other year ago for a certain brand. The fog lights are easier to work with if you remove them. Jack the front of the car up, push back the splash flap which is secured by velcro, unplug the foglight and then there is four screw bolts holding it to the bumper.

There are several very good write ups on this site for HID install directions. It is very easy to do, I think you should look at some of the writeups and see if you can do it yourself.

yeah dont trust the shop! as for the head lights very easy and for the fog light alittle more work, i did mine and levi`s hid and all together it took me an, hour- 15 min for the full install for both sets. if you have any question pm me and ill give you my cell # and talk you thur it so you dont pay anybody for the work and you will know how the install really is!
