Hello My name is Scott I currently own a 97 Mark viii lsc and a 68 cougar. The lsc has Custom exhaust,04 cobra center and axles, mustang hub and brakes swap with tsw 18x9 /18x10.5 wheels and a sct chip with tune. I love the car but am really disappointed with the power. I joined because I am looking at a few options A: a mm long block for the lsc with a eaton B: sell lsc and buy MM or C; Sell lsc and go stupid with the cougar (currently being built/restored)

Hmmm, I'd vote for "B". Bag the LSC (it does look good though!) and get a Marauder. An engine swap will just lead to issues (very few don't) and going nuts with the Cougar would be cool, but then you only have 1 car :(.

Cougar details? Engine/trans? Stock restore/pro touring/track car?

Cougar is a 68 with 67 fenders (gets rid of the ugly marker lights) a 393w and a tko500 and 9in. It sits on 17x9 17x10.5 fr500 wheels and a AJE complete front suspension and will some day this winter be black as well as most of the chrome. It really isn't any one thing but I guess it is more pro touring than anything

I have wanted a mm since ... Well really I wanted a Lx sport vic when they were new and I sold cars but you had no choice but to get it with a 2v. THEN the MM showed up and it was everything I had wanted ..except cheap lol Now they are in reach price wise and it looks like thanks to some of you guys some are still nice enough to still want. I want a Black on Black but a silver w/ black will work

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Junk the LSC ( great looking LSC!!)

Buy a Marauder and Eaton swap it, Addco swaybars and Wilwood brakes. Youlle be light years ahead of your LSC!!

I'm thinking it is high 14's? Heavy car but a badass heavy car nonetheless...with a few upgrades it will run great...4:10's, underdrive pulleys, CAI, SCT Xcal3 tuner, EMP water pump...etc

What do the mm's run in stock form? 1/4 time wise that is

Bone stock from the factory, they are low 15 sec.
A few quick/common mods (CAI, tune, etc..) you're in the 14's.
Max out N/A mods (above with 4.10's, LT headers w/good exhaust, etc..)and you're in the mid-high 13's.

Then.... there's the superchargers :burn:

You may want to hang on to the Mark and do some work on that.

I'd get a Mark VIII LSC like yours. A) love the car; B) love the color; C) love the mod-ability just like a Marauder. FWW: that car is the first & only car I sat in that felt like it was giving me a hug!

Thanks for the welcome guys. Don't get me wrong I really like the lsc but the car runs a consistent 15.2 all day long. I have 3:55's in it now and really am unsure if I want to go 4;10's as I like were it is on the freeway. I know a blower would fix the issue but then I have more in it than it is worth and it is basically a big 2 seater lol. We will see I think I will be putting it for sale and if I get what I want I will be adding a little and looking for a clean mm

Considering it very much, pretty much the only downfall to that is on the power tour this year I would be invisible again like last year... Then again I guess i could drive one of dads 10 or so ...hmmmm
