View Full Version : Mercury Marauder for Hire
I was traveling home on West bound Route 66 in Northern Virginia when I saw something spectacular and surprising at the same time. No it wasn’t a Bugatti, the car of my dreams but a Mercury Marauder, the car we all know and love. It was Jet Black and menacing with large chrome rims that shined brightly. Wow, what a cool car I thought. This was the second Marauder in life that I discovered on the highway, but there was something different about this vehicle. The license plates read for hire and a State issued decal was clearly visible form the rear window. I passed the car in disbelief shaking my head. What did I just see I thought, was it a cab or a limo? Not to piss off the Crown Vic crowd, but I have a hard time thinking of a Marauder as a cab or fleet vehicle. But the evidence was resounding; the older black man sporting a drivers cap was driving a high performance cab, no crap…. Ok folks is this the future of lackluster sales? I guess the next thing I will see is a Stretch version of the car with tandem wheels.

I think this is great, anybody who drives for a living, should have as much fun as he can while doing so. Besides, treating your "guest" to a little horsepower may earn a larger tip...
I'm debating listing my MM as a movie prop for rent, I would love to boast that Sandra Bullock's buttocks once sat here...
I would have no to Pamela Sue though, no towing package.

Some places do rent Hi-Performance cars and for room it would be hard to beat the MM.

I know of 2 cab companies locally that use the Marauder platform for their "High End" customers and their fares are premium too.
Its cool as a cab, I would use it over a 9C1 Caprice or P series Vic for sure anytime.
3 of our local Police departments also now are using the Marauder.

I don't know... I MM for a supposively "luxury transportation" vehicle doesn't fit. Stiffer suspension, and I can't see the governor wanting to hear second gear scratches coming from a vehicle he's riding in. The driver would never DRIVE again I wouldn't think...
As for the high performance deal, hell yah! To say YOUR MM was featured in a movie would be kick ass, not only that, it would add some value to the car, especially if you could get the cast to sign it!
LOL Sergnt! I'd have to have Bridgette Wilson in mine! Gotta love blondes! :D (Sorry sweetheart...)
