Hey all, I jus registered here. I have wanted a Marauder for YEARS and just couldn't afford it with my toy (88 Mustang) that I was building and me having a boat didnt help but I will finally have the money for one next year. It will be a daily driver for me. I currently drive an AOD 92 LX 5.0, its a great car but its also the newest car I've ever owned so I'm ready to move onto a newer car and a Marauder will suit my needs juuuus fine. Anything in particular to look for on these cars? I restore cars for a living so I can do anything. I'm hoping to find one with less then 100k and for around 10k. Any help is appreciated!!!

Way to roll out the welcome wagon!

What I've learned so far is make sure the bumpers are perfect because replacing them is very expensive. Other than that do a thorough search to make sure the drug dealer that used to own it didn't leave anything suspicious in it!

Thats really weird because I literally just registered today at lunch today no joke lol. I like the comment on the drug dealers. Being close to Philly I always see a bunch forsale with a ton of miles on them and at least 22 inch wheels :-/ bummer. If I get one it will stay stock save for mufflers and an intake and HID headlights. These cars are too perfect looking to mess with them at all.

Front accident tells.
Aftermarket non-clear coated (but polished) rims. Knock off on one corner means possible accident there.
yellow turn signal bulbs don't match (they long life bulbs, hard to change, and unlikely to be replaced unless broken.)

Rear accident tells.
Exhaust tips don't line up perfectly.

Drivetrain trouble.
Loud ticking or thumping from drivers side of engine.
Most bolt on (non turbo or supercharged) mods are probably OK. MM engines can almost double their stock horsepower before they are at risk. Once air is forced, you need to know the horsepower (should be under 450 RWHP, stock is 230 RWHP.)

Corrosion trouble
Wheels are very sensitive to salt. If no protective coat was applied by owner in winter they will be chewed up.

Fraud trouble
Verify the VIN as a marauder. People have been putting together good looking CV clones often using Marauder parts. A couple would have fooled me at a glance.

Possibly unavoidable at 100k.
Leather is soft -wear on drivers seat.
Rear bumper cover may be sagging.
Some paint chipping on interior paint.
Factory paint is weak (more so in 03?) may be blisters on roof, A pillar, hood and trunk.

Don't let this list steer you away. This is all I could come up with with 4 years on this site.

Good, bang em up! Makes the originals still owned by the original purchaser that more valuable over time. The more that are muttized, the more $$$ in my pocket should I decide to sell. So please trash away at will.

If your close to Philly, there's a black Marauder with just over 84,000 I believe for sale for he's asking $8,575 he states it has a clean title.

I've been lookin at that one in Philly!! It looks like a great deal. I actually prefer to buy a MM from someone on here because then I know it has been loved and well documented! That marauder on Cars is pathetic, they should be shot for doing that. Heres a couple pics of my Mustangs. Im a huge Fox nut.
Here's my current daily. I just finished fixing some serious rot in the door jambs these past two weekend. I plan on reshooting the entire car to get some more cash out of her. Its mostly stock with an AOD and 175k. Runs and drives like a dream. I got it looking 100% stock and my girlfriend helped me turn it into this. Not a fan of black wheels most of the time but I like it on this thing.

I traded this car for the red car. Got it with 100k on here. Bone stock save for a Flowmaster cat back and a hurst short throw. (Got sick of drivin stick everyday)

Here's my fun car. 88 ttop car. Started life as a 4 banger 5 speed car. Took me 2.5 years to complete. It goes 12.8-13.0 in the quarter. I need a better trans to really get some consistent times down. Its also got a 98 interior in it and what a pain that was.

Welcome! Liking the interior swap!

How do you like those 1-piece headlights on your foxbodies? I have an 89 and have thought about switching from the 3-piece to the 1-piece.

I like em, the ones I have are the best looking ones IMO, the only thing is you have to cut out the headlight panel for it to fit so if you ever want to go back to the stockers youre screwed.

oh and I also have owned a 91 Deep Jewel Green SHO and my first mustang was a 89 GT that I beat to death and drove it up to 246,000 and scrapped it cause it was too rotted out. All the parts off it went into the 88 tho. My first car was a 84 2 Door Caprice that I got for 12 bucks from my nieghbor. Had 84,000 miles on it and ran like a top. Never should have sold that thing.
