Am getting shorty headers...does this look like a decent x pipe to bolt up to them? I will be adding my own high flow cats.

Should bring your car to MBS here in Maryland and get some custom work done for the mid-pipe.

That looks exactly like the UPR X and they are crap: http://mach1registry.org/forums/showthread.php?t=116976
I replaced the UPR with this one and the quality is mucho better: http://www.jegs.com/i/PYPES/958/XFM1...ductId=1159308 (http://www.jegs.com/i/PYPES/958/XFM1...ductId=1159308)
The band clamps supplied with the Ppes X don't work well at all. I replaced them with these: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-692250/

Wouldn't it be better to just get all the joints welded?

See if you can can find a Mac Pro-Chamber for off road use. Great set-up and the high flow cats fit right in to make up the extra length to clear the cross member.
I got hooked up through musclemerc and have been very pleased with it.

Isn't this illegal? Rex, are you trying to tell a LEO to put something illegal on his car? ;)

My car is very quiet (the way I prefer, especially on the highway) as I'm still running the OEM mufflers with high flow cats and res-delete tips. At idle, just a bit more throaty than stock, and just a tad bit louder at WOT, the blower definitely overpowers the exhaust as far as sound output.
If I ever decided to go with aftermarket mufflers, the decibels would definitely increase.

No, not illegal as this pipe, along with the Magnaflowhigh flow cats will make up the space needed to clear the crossmember under the car, so that makes it legal set up. If you got the street set up, you'd have to cut out the cats that come with it and swap out with the Magnaflows (or alternatively, add in some spacer piping), so this is definitely the better option.

Come on Rex, I fixed it for you. It is Terry that decides how loud the car is going to be or has or shoulder healed already. The the post you said for 'off-road' use, doesn't that mean not street use?
Just pulling your sandy chain my friend. :D

True that... :(
She HATES the car with the "stoopidcharger" on it, only way she'd be happy is if I'd go back to 100% stock, which AIN'T gonna happy.
Guess I need to get me a set of shouldermapads... ;)
