To my limited understanding, weren't parts to be produced 20 years after the final production date?

The dealers can put out a request on a Ford list looking for a specific part. When we bought our LS8 one of the rear seatbelts was all chewed up from a baby seat. The dealership located one at another dealer in Minnesota somewhere.

I was talking to Steve Babcock at MV9 and I believe he said 10 years +1 so 11. Ford is getting around the issue by declaring the parts obsolete.

SB was looking into why Ford made so many MM parts obsolete but as of this posting I have not heard any updates.:)

Worst case scenario maybe we can buy our parts back from members on cv.net, lol!

The parts have to remain available for as long as it's covered by a Ford warranty.

As far as parts availability I checked a few weeks ago and there are about 45 center caps left in the country.

Let the hoarding commence!

Not true, I had a Continental(94) that was under warranty in '03 and the moon roof motor went out. It was covered under warranty but there were none ANYWHERE. Ford had to remove it and have the old one rebuilt.

I was referring to the standard warranty.

This was told to me when I called the Ford Customer Service line asking about Ford producing specific parts again.

I just ordered a grille last night. One more down! That is probably the most expensive piece of plastic I have ever bought.

Yeah you think it's tough getting parts for an '03? try finding parts for a '93.....lol.
Or parts for a Mark VIII.

When I got my Mark VIII oil pan, the dealer told me there were only two left in the entire country. Mine came all the way from Las Vegas, of all places. Def most expensive oil pan I ever bought.
I wonder who got the last one? lol

I also supposedly got the last brand new OEM '93 trans crossmember.

But yeah, finding parts for an older Ford has been a PITA for a while now.
And they keep using that same word: obsolete.
:mad2:

Wasn't the ford standard warranty on an 03 or 04 marauder 3 years/36,000?
