yes and also make sure your motor is up to temp. drive it and gun it a few times untill it stops smoking. then change oil right after

Please explain why you would need to change your oil after running seafoam thru your fuel system?

Yea I never heard of changing the oil after running sea foam thru the motor either. I did seafoam on my last two crown vics never changed the oil after doing it and never had any problems.

Take off the brake booster line and you can pull in the Seafoam there. You want a vacuum line that feeds all cylinders. Put the other half or so in your tank. 👊

some seafoam that doesn't get burnt up during combustion will get past the rings into the oil.

Ima by some seafoam tomorrow and do it I normally just do it if i get a new car. But I just wanted a little info on the marauder and doing the seafoam

If enough seafoam gets past your rings to require an oil change, something is bad wrong.

you'd be surprised at how much gets by in a healthy engine. seafoam dilutes engine oil allowing it to get past the rings easier.

I have a rule about adding something to my engine that I think is going to dilute the oil. Especially, then running said engine with said contaminated oil.

So if i do it, should I do it all thru the brake booster or half thru the booster and the other half in the gas tank

Seafoam does, But fuel doesn't?

i use a chemical in my line of work that makes Seafoam look like mountain spring water.
It is Yamaha Internal Engine Cleaner. you run it through the fuel system 45 minutes at idle only. it will turn brand new oil pitch black, it causes the carbon to come off of the motor, (pistons, heads, valves etc) and what doesn't go out the exhaust ends up in the oil.
I have seen amazing results using it although you need full hazmat gear to deal with it.
But I am sure that Seafoam, doing the same job in a somewhat gentler manner still has to contaminate the oil.
Fuel can easily pass by the rings in a COLD motor, I see it a lot with marine engines running in saltwater, thermostats stick open and motors run cold all the time, the symptom is the motor "makes oil". You troubleshoot it by the smell. Oil doesn't smell like gas.

Seafoam does, But fuel doesn't?
c'mon seriously? fuel is pressurized and shot through an injector at 40psi. (roughly)
the seafoam that you dump down your intake and choke your engine out is not pressurized therefore does not burn nearly as well as fuel.
all i'm saying is that its not a bad idea to change your oil afterwards.

Yamaha Internal Engine Cleaner . Where can i get some of it?

So is the Yamaha internal cleaner better then seafoam and if so where is it sold at??

It is available at Yamaha dealerships only. It is not supposed to be sold to the public. It is some toxic stuff.
Make your offspring have odd numbered limbs kind of stuff.
Your best bet is get friendly with a Yamaha dealer in your area.
It is expensive, $25+ a quart.

I've thought about seamfoaming my motor, but it just seems rather risky to me to be pouring that stuff in there and creating huge clouds of smoke.
If it ain't broke.........

ive always been told that carbon deposits will help seal the pistons and rings by filling up microscopic voids/scratches in the cylinder walls, and by removing the deposits, you remove the seal in a sense......just what iv'e been told, dont kill the messanger! but it makes sense to me..

You guys are really "Over Thinking" this Seafoam thing!!:shake:
You can accomplish the same results with plain ole diesel fuel applied in a like manner!!
If they recommend Seafoam in the oil and fuel and directly through the intake it surely won't cause a problem if it gets past the rings (unlikely)!!
I tried it through the intake and the car ran like crap and put out a boatload of smoke but after it cleared up I saw ZERO improvement in any way!!:shake:
I think it is a waste of money in well maintained engines that burn high quality fuel!!:D
My $.02 FWIW!!;)

Seafoam never hurt anything I have done it plenty of times on the used cars that I have bought. My 89, 91 and 99 crown vic no problems just wanna get the bad out if there's any. But never changed the oil afterwards and still never had any engine problem plus I take car of my cars as well.

I used Seafoam on my 2000 Lincoln TC with 120k on it about a week ago and so far no issues. The engine actually idles quiterer now and a check engine light that was on is no off (it was on for a falty coolant temperature sensor) but I'm not overheating so I can wait on replacing it. I run lowgrade gas that I buy on a military base so I think the Seafoam treatment was well overdue, all in all I'm happy with it. Although I would suggest doing it in a parking lot if you have sensitive neighbors, the smoke is pretty intense.

^^^Agree with Marauderjack's comments^^^
One of the ways SeaFoam is used to clean a dirty (or unknown) engine is to put a third in the oil, a third in the gas, and the remains through the intake via a vacuum line.
I do also agree with the comments that it will not "do" anything if the engine is already clean and in sound mechanical condition, but like Techron or Regane, occasional use will help keep things clean and certain won't hurt anything.
