Does anyone make a yellow H1 bulb? Or is H1 always white and another H number is the yellow version?
I think fog lights should be yellow!!

I didn't think these driving lights were meant to be fog lights. Was I mistaken?

Donald: They are driving lights not fog lights! I sure you can change them if you want ask the parts deptarment where you got it or try a speed shop, or the web?

Had yellow fog lights on a Pontiac 6000, but I agree with Big Dog, these are driving lights, you don't see to many fog lights around anymore.

They work great in the fog as is. IMO. Big help on a rain slicked night. I'll leave mine alone.

What are they for, then? Don't the low beams supply enough light? They go off when you hit the hi-beam.

Don,
The first time you use your lower (fog, driving or whatever) lights in a rainy, foggy or snow low visability situation, you're going to love them. They're low & wide, keeps you between the lines.
Not to mention the occasional illumination of a hitchhiker or deer, etc.

I had a great opportunity to use driving lights yesterday here in Atlanta in a heavy cold rain. And a side benefit I hadn't counted on.
It was mentioned above how the driving lights go out when you use Hi-beams. I was driving down a two-lane road when I came up on an intersection---I had a green light but a lady in a Mercedes ( without even slowing for her red light) pulled out in front of me. I had to brake heavily and I saw her look up in her rear view mirror. I don't think she was too sure what was behind her-----I flicked the high beams a couple times----and I guess the alternating up and down of the lights with the driving lights------:) SHE PULLED OVER.
HA-------MY FIRST PULLOVER
A sort of a "vertical wig-wag," then?

Exactly--------I think she had her license and registration out before I even got by her

Mike,
White light bounces back when it hits fog. That is why I think yellow bulbs would be better.

Fog lights.
Driving lights are used for driving. They provide a narrow beam stright ahead.
For lights are used to reflect light off the road, thus passing the fog directly in front of you and let you see farther. that's why they are aimed at the ground.

Damn, if you want yellow H1 bulbs go to Ebay and do a search for yellow H1 bulbs, yes yellow does cut threw fog nice but the lights where designed for white DRIVING lights, me, I upgraded to HID, much brighter plus if you want you can use yellow HID bulbs in place of the white, 2 options, white/yellow, choose the one that works for you

They are foglights....per the owners manual. Nowhere in the manual does it say driving lights.....
You can get H1 bulbs in yellow, but I'd recommend getting a HID kit with 3000K bulbs if you want yellow. If you want whiter light get 5000k or 6000k bulbs.
Visibility in Fog
Fog lights are designed to reduce glare that occurs while you are driving through thick fog. When you flip on your headlights in a patch of fog, most of the light is reflected back at you from the water droplets in the cloud of fog. Water is reflective of light almost to the point of being a mirror, so whenever you turn on your headlights in a fog, you are going to receive most of the light thrown out back in your eyes. This creates a blinding patch of light in front of you.
Angling for Better Vision
The idea behind fog lights is to reduce the amount of glare thrown back at you. The fog lights are angled downward toward the road at an angle, so when you turn them on, the light is thrown across the road in front of you and not straight ahead of you, where it can be reflected back. The light is not reflected back into their eyes. This gives you some visibility of the roadway, without blinding you. The color of the lights has no bearing on their use in fog. Today, yellow or any other color is not recognized as being "better" at penetrating fog. It may have more use as a safety mechanism for oncoming traffic.
Benefits and Drawbacks
Fog lights will give you a little more visibility and reduce glare while driving down a foggy road. You will be able to see the roadway more clearly and suffer through less glare. However, some people say that these lights really don't give you an advantage. The fog lights only light up a small section of road, because they are angled and mounted lower on the vehicle. They do not give other drivers enough warning and sometimes can blind other motorists as they approach you. They also do not cut through the fog in any way. The lights themselves are the same bulbs are headlamps, LEDs or HIDs. Any yellow lights use a color filter to produce the yellow color that may reduce some of the blinding glare, which makes them appear to cut through the fog.

From your sig....
ZEEZS Lighting Works 10000K HID kit
XENTEC Lighting 10000k HID kit for fogs
Doing 10000k is part of the problem. Anything above 6000k is a waste really and just for a color show.
3000 k is a yellow light, useful in fog lamps, not headlights
4300 k is approx 3,400 lumens, is plain bright natural mid day sunlight coloring
5000 k approx 3,200 lumens, a clear bright white
6000 k approx 2,800 lumens, very slight blue
8000 k approx 2,550 lumens, really starts to look blue
10000 k approx 2,200 lumens, deep blue, approaches violet
12000 k approx 2,100 lumens, poor usable light, actually looks violet
I went from 6000 to 5000 and noticed a big difference in light output.
To each their own but I recommend 5000k.

You mean the foglight mod?
You want to remove the diffuser?
Remove the foglight, separate the reflector assembly from the lens body, remove the diffuser, reassemble.
