I need new tires ASAP. I'm torn between Nitto 555 or the Cooper RS3 a. Need some advice. Definately don't want OEM this time around. Any thoughts?

I LOVE my Nitto 555s. I can't speak for the Coopers though.

How are they in the wet?

Mine are actually really good. They're 295s so there's more surface area than the KDWS, but, I haven't romped on it or gone above 65 in the rain anyway.

I think most people here are going to tell you to go with the NITTO's

Go with the Nitto 555, Had them in 20" on my Fleetwood loved them. I sold and installed tires for 15 years nothing lasted nor-rode better.

I have them & they don't hold well. Any power & the rear end starts to step out, even with straight driving. Problem is, I don't know what's any better either.

Well too high of a P.S.I. could cause that.

Well I would put the BFG back on or even a Bridgestone.

The nitto 555 are excellent performance tires, and good in the rain, very nice choice!

Try the Nittos NT05 tires. They grip much better than the 555 ones.

Well it kinda depends on where you live & the weather . I have the Nitto 555's , its more of a *Summer High Performance tire* & they do last a long time but cost a little more than the Cooper RS3-A. One of the Guys from Canada who joins us at The Tower Shops on Friday nite just got the Coopers RS3-A's All season High performance and they run smoother than the Stock tires, they have a 500 thread wear & come in the stock tire sizes 235/50 front & 245/55 rear. Last friday I saw them on his car & they looked really nice too. If you have a High Horse Power Marauder & the weather for the most part where you live is fairly good the Nittos 555's are nice but the ride is a little harder. If you have snow & bad weather and you drive your Marauder in it than the Cooper RS3-A's *All Season* are a Better bet. Both tires have a 168 MPH rating. Keep in mind everyone here can only tell you what they experence or others tell them they have experenced.

I've had the coopers RS3A for a couple of weeks. Lot smoother that BFG's. Grip is really good too.

Thanks.. That's exactly what I was looking for. I think I will be going with the Cooper's. With the kids on board most of the time, and the fact that we do actually get snow around here now, the extra traction gives me some peace of mind.
