Here's what I love about the Marauder.

Originally I wanted a 96 Impala SS. But being that the cars 15 years old. I wanted something as cool if not cooler. Rear wheel drive, full size car, V-8 a super cool factor and something I will not see often. Well there was only one choice. A Mercury Marauder.
I for sure wanted a 2004 due to the simple facts that usually the first build year of a car usually has issues and I wanted the moonroof. I didn't care about color.

So I sold my mint low milage 97 Camaro SS and bought a 2005 GTO. Well. The GTO turned into a 4+ year lawsuit and during that time I was driving around in a free from my wife's grandma, 1986 Buick Somerset(puke). As time went on I grew very tired of driving that turd mobile and waiting for our lawsuit to finish up.

So almost 3 years ago on a Friday night I happen to go on Carmax's website and by chance they had 2 Marauders. Turned out the one was 1/2hr from my house. So Saturday morning I went back on the website and the one Marauder was gone but the one close by was still available. So naturally I woke up my wife and daughter. Told them get dressed now. We are going to buy a Marauder. Walked into Carmax and there in the middle of the floor was a super clean 2004 DTR Marauder, light flint interior and 24,000+ miles. No heated seats or moonroof :-( I told the sales person that I was going to buy it. Took it out for a short drive and as we pulled up. Others were waiting to drive it. Well, they never did!! :-)

Over the past 3 years. I have modded it and driven it. Wilwood brakes, Addco front and rear sway bars, Zack & Mac rear control arms, Jmod, more gauges, 4.10 gears, and an Eaton supercharger.

Now for the BEST part.

The BEST part of owning a Marauder is quite simple. This car and website has allowed me to meet some really incredible and awesome people. First it was local Maruder owners through our local meets. Then I finally got to meet sooo many more owners by going to 2 Louisville meets and the last Maruderville meet in Hershy PA. That is the BEST part of owning this car. Meeting all these incredible people!!

So do yourself a favor and buy a Marauder. Go to local and regional meets.

It's not the car that's great. It's the great people and community here that help make this a great experience.

On a side note. I may see another Marauder about once every 3 months around my area.

The good thing is that your thinking exactly what I was thinking 10 years ago. As a kid growing up, the 96 impala ss was my dream car. Fortunately the people at ford decided to resurrect a Titan (marauder). The marauder is sexier ..... Nuff said.

I also was wanting to get a Impala SS but they were too expensive for me back in the day. Then I happened to be looking at Ford and Mercury websites to see what was new and happened to see the 2004 Marauder. Had never heard of them until that moment. Read up on them and did some web surfing and got real interested in them. The wife and I stopped in at the local Ford dealer and there sat a brand new DTR Marauder. I took it for a test drive and that was all she wrote. It went home with me and it has 46,000 smiles on it. If you haven't already seen my sig line we now have 4 Marauders. I am selling a black one to my son. We really like them. I would like to own a Silver Birch too and have the complete set. I for one am happy with all of them. Good luck with your decision.

Wish my dad was cool enough to have FOUR marauders, and one to sell to me

I loved the fact that it was already setup from the factory the way i set up my cars growing up.
Staggered stance, V8, big trunk, console, split front seat, ample back seat, 4 drs for egress.
Plus, not seeing one on the road every five minutes, and it turns heads.

Where i work there is every flavor of Mustang (even a GT500 and KR) a bunch of New Camaros, Chargers (old and new), Challengers, CVs and GM's, but still only one MARAUDER!!!

In the end no one can tell you to get one.

You either do or you don't. The majority here didn't need convincing.

I don't like my Marauder .......... much. ;)

Looks great.
Handles well.
Catches everyone's eye.
Gets comments at car shows.
Very comfortable even on long trips.
Power to spare. More if you want it.
Comes with a built in family of great people.
This is the most fun to drive car that I have owned.
After 8 years, I still like it and drive it like the first day.

I am sure there are more reasons; but that's enough for now!!!

An Eaton swap is a supercharger from a Mustang that is installed on the Marauder with lots of extra parts found to do the install. There is a lot of info on the Power Adder forum of this website. Take a look.

Lol your like I was..... Watching every video .... Learning as much as possible. I realize more and more everyday that this car isn't for the faint of heart nor a pompous ******* who wants it to sit in his garage till 2050. ( which really isn't that bad of an idea ) nonetheless it wouldn't be right. But I was stuck to bro. Everyday all I could think about in my free time was my rauder. And unlike a lot of other material things I've owned in my life. I have the same amount of respect for that car as I did 10 years ago.

can't agree with you more!! Lol man all I do is think about this car
And the first time I get to drive mine in JAN. after watching hundreds of YouTube
Vids and reading online reviews I felt like I hit the loto when I found this website lol
I didn't kno what a marauder was until two months ago, and I wasn't a big car guy, don't get me wrong I loved nice cars but it wasn't until I was in the market for a new car, and I stumbled on a YouTube clip of a marauder and I've been hooked ever since!! So I come here to learn learn learn lol so plz guys pm number for those who don't mind telling me more about these great cars.

The first look at a recent Marauder was all it took, I purchaced one within a week.
It may have been even sooner but at the model year change between 2003-2004 the only blues left remaining were in Cali.
I mentioned to a complete stranger my intentions of purchacing a Marauder in blue, and he replied,"There is only one color for the Marauder,...BLACK!", he followed up with, " Besides,. you get one from cali, and it will have all the smog crap on it" Shamed into black and never regreted for a second.
The car is awesome the people are better!

I was just the opposite .... went looking for a Black MM and found a Blue. It looked so good shined up on the lot that I couldn't resist it. The rest is history. Have never regretted my decision either. :D
