I would like to know what kind of sub you guys are runing and how does it sound/thump. I don't know if a powered sub will be enough in a trunk of a full size car. Do you powered sub guys just have enough to here some bass?. I don't want ground pounding bass but I want a pretty good amount of it. So the next best thing I'm thinking is one well powered 12 anything more then that I don't want.

I use Image Dynamics IDMAX in 12", it absolutely beats with insane clarity but the draw back is it requires a bit of power to run it.

I replaced my stock one with an entry level 150 watt rms 12" in a sealed box. It's not really being worked but it can be heard and felt. Using the factory amp to power it as well.
That's my cheap option, next would be the Infinity Basslink I or II.

Any idea how many watts the factory amp puts out? Just curious....

I would say around 40rms for a stock amp, my guess that is...

So the basslink sounds pretty good huh. I'm wondering if one nice 12 would sound better

put it this way better to have to much then not enough at all just dont turn it up to much that way you know they will thump but you dont need all that and the subwoofers will stay fresh and wont get worn out you get one 12' you will be tuning it up alot wearing it out and wont last long at all

The Basslink was a good choice for me.
I don't need to shake the fillings out of my mouth.

I just don't know what to do. To me there's 3 levels of bass there's basslink that's just enough bass to here then there's one or two 12s that have a good amount then there's 2 15s that pound the ground and can here coming from a mile away IMO. What I really want but does not make sense is a sound of two 12s in a basslink size that will fit where the oem sub is. So i think I'm gonna do one 12 in a small box that will fit where the old oem sub sits

I am running a single solo L5 mono on a Sony Explode 1300w bridged to one channel and it shakes the ground. Highly recommend it.

Do you have it hooked up where the oem sub is or is it a normal size box
