So my 03 MM is making a weird knocking sound, I've had the car for just over a month and it started making the sound recently, took it to a ford dealer today and the mechanic that check the car gave it to me straight that they have never had a MM come to their them so they didn't know much about the engine and the sound it cold be making. Long story short he drove the car and said it drive fine.. and he does't think it is bad. Now I turn to you guys, has anybody herd this sound in our cars before.
Also, my driveway is a heel when ever going up in reverse the car just dies. starts normal like nothing happened. Here is the sound.

 Holy hell man! It sounds like a diesel truck. I'd definately quit driving it until the noise is singled out and fixed. Don't run it anymore as you are most likely doing more damage.

Sounds like a rod knock or a broke wrist pin. Find a local SVT dealer and bring it to them. They would be more apt to diagnose it for you.

It's very hard to diagnose a "weird sound" recorded by a cell phone; you REALLY need to find a competent dealer. The one you took it to is obviously a moron...my sister could tell that doesn't sound normal.
Long shot: try removing the serpentine belt and see if the sound its still there. At least you'll know if it's external or internal at that point.

Pull the electric connector to each injector one at a time. If the sound quiets down on a particular cylinder, it's most likely a rod bearing, if it doesn't change at all, it could be a wrist pin. Get a long screwdriver and put the tip to the cam cover bolts and your ear to the handle to pin down the cylinder. If you get it on a lift and put the screwdriver to the engine while it's running, you can pin down top or bottom of the block.

A well placed stethoscope should be able to isolate the noise to an area and Racer's suggestion will help to isolate a piston by changing its load may help. I did have one once that the noise was loudest at the catalyst. It ended up being a cylinder head problem but the unusual exhaust scavenging made it sound like a bottom end knock.

Yes while it's running. You pull the injector electrical harness, one at a time. Listen to the sound, replace the harness, move to the next harness and repeat. Does the sound get louder if you rev it to 2k, 3k, etc. Don't do it too much or too high btw. Do you have a real or the stock mm oil pressure gauge? If real, does it fluctuate at all with the sound?

If you brought your car to a Ford dealer and they said they didn't know too much about your DOHC 4.6 motor, the same 1 that is in several Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicles, I will STRONGLY suggest that you find another dealer. They have to be yankin' you and/or don't want to be bothered (especially if they know you have that warranty).
Out of curiosity, what does it sound like if you rev it up a little? Mine sounded like some rocks in a plastic container a few weeks before I had my new long-block installed. Me thinks that you were wise in that warranty purchase. I hope it covers powertrain.
And the last issue you mention about the stalling, that's not too uncommon and it's a pretty easy fix. I just had the same issue. I did a search on this site for "stalling" and found some threads to walk you through removing and cleaning the IAC valve. A few hand tools, some throttle body cleaner and about 20 minutes of your time.
Good luck!!
Have you changed the oil since you bought it? If it wasn't making this sound when you bought it, and you HAVE changed your oil, I'm betting the seller put thick oil in it to quiet the noise.
Glad you have the warranty. Who's it through and does it cover powertrain?

Yeah I had the sludge oil to cover engine problems trick done to me some years ago too.
If it's under warranty and the dealer turned you away, they did it for the wrong reasons. I'd contact ford and complain about it. That dealer needs to go.

Thank you on the stalling tip ill be doing it it this weekend. When I rev it I get no sound it seems to go away, either that or the exhaust is just louder than the the knock but its only at idle and low speeds it doesn't get any louder, I had posted about my car shuttering when I get to a certain speed normally between 35-45 mph and the RPM is at about 1500..
Talk to some people at JDM engineering in NJ he said what some have stated either a bearing or a rod could be damage.. I wanted to build a forged bottom end using a Teskid block seems like that just jump up my to do list with the MM.
Ill be taking it to a Mercury dealer soon because the ford dealer suck

If you have your heart set on that motor and don't have a block yet, PM Blackened300a. He had 1 a few months ago (actually complete running motor from a '99 Cobra). If he still has it, he may still be willing to part with it(??).
Good luck.

+1! In fact, I've had Ford contact me more than once to find out how my last service visit was! Maybe I'm mistaken, but I believe they are trying to satisfy their customers and "weed" out authorized service dealers that affect customer ratings, which helps their stock price and customers. :)

i had that exact problem with mine. it was a combination of wrist pin and piston slap in cyl #7 and 8. the noise would go away almost completely when engine was at full operating temperature. i sent the short block out to an engine builder and they went over it. replaced all 8 pistons, rods and wrist pins. checked the crank and honed the cylinders. if you can do it yourself it really isn't that costly. i think i ended up around the $2000.00 mark.

Do you have an Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts or Napa around? They're only like $20 for a balancer puller. Sometimes you can use a steering wheel puller kit depending on the hardware in it.
