I'm looking to buy a spoiler from the website below for my DTR.
http://www.carid.com/2004-mercury-marauder-spoiler/spoiler-43109.html

Their DTR color code is listed as FL/M6758Toreador Red Pearl Metallic Clearcoat

My sticker on my door jam says what looks like "JL" code

Has anyone ordered from this company? Does the color match the DTR?

Thanks for any help.

Here's the Marauder paint codes and touch up paint codes from an earlier thread ... the DTR is officially "Dark Toreador Red". I don't think "Toreador Red Pearl Metallic Clearcoat" is EXACTLY the same thing. Maybe someone with a DTR can give you the full paint name off their window sticker.

And here are the part number codes from an earlier thread to go along with them ..... :D

FORD Color Codes from a really old thread ...

UA=Black (PMP-19500-1724A)
JP=Silver Birch (PMP-19500-7052A)
JL= Dark Toreador Red (ALBZ-19500-6771A)
DX= Dark Pearl Blue (PMP-19500-7083A) in the parts department.

I would personally buy the unpainted one from them and them have a body shop paint it. That would ensure the best match.

I'd buy an unpainted one and have a local body shop paint it.

I bough mine from the local dealer and had them paint it DTR. I didn't want to have to send it back through the mail if I was not happy with it.

Thanks for all your help! Looks like the website listed above has the wrong color code for DTR and should be JL/M7661. Called them and changed it. We'll see what I get!

RubberCityRauder - Thanks for the chart! It helped.

I think that you wrote down the numbers wrong .... it should be JL/M6771.

JL is ussually a good color match with any of the larger paint CO.'s only 2 variances in dupont color book. Unlike SB(jp) Dupont alone has 5 variances in there color book.

They just called me back asking for my VIN number. Guess they're double checking color code using that? The color code on the website is wrong.

Reading the comments on the link you provided it sounds like it is a fiberglass reproduction spoiler. I would definitely do some research on the site about the fiberglass spoilers before finalizing your purchase. I have read many negative comments about the fit and quality compared to the OEM one from Ford.

I got my OEM primed one for $169.40 from Tousley Ford Parts and had it painted for $75.

The included OEM spoiler hardware, instructions, guides and templates made it an easy installation.
