It is a Must if U run dual pumps! Ask me how I know? in the dead of summer more then once the stock one overloaded (got to hot) and shut my fuel system down. Once I put a stage2fpdm in I had zero problems. I ran a single GT pump & 40amp Bap in my other MM and never had a problem with the stock one however ,what I know now I would have put one in that also considering the inexpensive mod it is. Landy is right D'agistino has best price on them. However when I needed it they were out of stock (most places were) so I got mine at Last Call Racing and atleast then it was quite a bit more. At one time last summer there was a huge shortage on them. U can also ck SVTP there on there very often for dirt cheap. I thought I saw were Racerx did a write up on this and diy for upgrading the resistor youre self on a stock FPDM could be wrong though. ANYONE with dual pumps not using one is on borrowed time it's just a matter of time as to when it will fail!!!! The upgrade from Lethal for dual pumps would be nice but not a good option for us as feeding additional wiring into the hat is next to impossible.

Got Mine for Zone5. it was less then 100.00 bucks if i remember right

zone5 makes two modded fpdms one slightly modded and another highly modded. (i dont know the specs).
the one from D'Agustino is made the same way the heavy duty from zone5 is. the guy that makes them for D'A claims they are better.

even with a modded fpdm i still ran my own seperate wires from the fpdm to the outside of the hat, then ran two seperate wires to each fuel pumps.
basically i have about 3" of single wire and thats the one that goes thru the fuel hat.

What did u use to run the wires thru the hat?

I didn't run the thru the hat, I ended the second set of wires coming from the FPDM right before the hat then soldered and used heat shrink insulator. The factory wire is the only one that goes thru the hat.
Since there is more current its a good idea to run a second wire or a bigger gauge wire.

That run of wire you made was a good idea but with out going all the way to the pump you are leaving a bottle neck there at the most important part right at the pump. We need someone to make us a modded hat. I'm sure it could be sold to alot of CV and GM guys on CV.net also. But with out making the run all the way to the pumps itself were still not eliminating that problem.

What do you swap out the capacitor and two transistors you have circled? And what do you upgrade them to? Part numbers and supplier? I'm pretty good at soldering.

Hey! A 2200uF capacitor and larger inductor (coil around the magnet), the transistors can get a thermal paste (like Artic Silver Thermal paste) in between the back and the aluminum housing. They have a cheasey solid thermal conducting layer and heat up a lot.

Trust me it works.

I feel ya partner. Technically it's like using a connector or such in that space. But it still would be cool to get a custom hat made for our applications. Damn mustang boys have all the fun lol.

No FPDM or BAP needed here with full return fuel system on my set up. Plenty of fuel on tap from just dual GT pumps and -8AN feed line with just direct battery voltage. Also, my fuel pressure is stable as a rock with no spike or big drops.
My FP is 41 psi at idle and will hit 60-62 psi at full boost of 20 lbs and stay there.

Hence why I will be going full return in the near future. Theres no comparison to it
