No.
Marauders have 4v DOHC. Crown Vics have 2v SOHC.

I'd go with MSD or Granatelli. Shop around, do some research. It's all up to you.
You're looking for 2v SOHC "coil on plug" ignition coils.

I'd stay far away from Granatelli coils. POS!!!!!

My 4v PRO coils only lasted or 4 months and just about all of them started to fail. Wasted close to $500.

I ended up going back to stock Motorcraft.

Granatelli replaced all 8 coils with new coils & they are just sitting in the box in my storage cabinet.

Check out this forum and other forums regarding Granatelli and nothing but bad news.

I've done a LOT of research on 2v coils and I've really heard mostly good things about Granatelli. Weird...
Maybe their 4v coils just suck.

Stick with OEM. Under $300 for all 8 and you'll never have to chase misfires.

Like I said before... those WILL NOT fit.
Crown vics are 2v and have different ignition coils.

True, they are 4V coils but I'm certain Sparta could get the 2V coils cheaper. I'm used to 4V questions here. ;)

I don't blame you haha.
I have no idea what sparta's price for the OEM coils would be, but they're about $600 from a stealership :shake:

Should be around the $250 range for all 8 OEM coils.

I just dealt with a misfire situation today, I was driving along and all of a sudden I have a nasty shutter. Plugged in my scanner and had a miss fire in cylinder #4. Pulled over switched the coil to cylinder #1 and the code changed to that cylinder. One of the Accel coils I stuck in back in June took a *****, of course the warranty is only 90 days. If I had to do it over again I would go OEM.

I think something that we can all agree on is that accel coils are chinese crap. I've had them take a dump on me after very short amounts of time.

I can't say for the post in number 1 but my car just got a brand new trans . The guy told me at the shop it was running hard for a car that's been sitting for 11 months . He also said feels like coils or coils is shot. Going to auto zone to get a reading .

I am having the shuddering problem and I know that it is one of the coils on spark plug deal but how do I determine which one it is and is it an easy fix or do i need special tools and a cold engine ?

Swap one coil out until you find the bad one.

Could also be the torque converter.

Just to clarify, Marauders don't have "coil packs", they have Coil-On-Plug (COP) coils. Ford changed from coil packs with earlier 4.6's.

Find a shop with a SOLUS or equivalent scanner and they will be able to read the codes and tell you which one(s) are bad.

Bad COPs can make it look like you have a bad trans/converter. It is obviously cheaper to shange COPs than a trans.

On friday driving to work my was cruising fine but as soon as I accelerated (partial throttle to change lanes) the car hesitated and shuddered. Took my foot off the accelerator & was fine.

S at 105k miles and no tune up I'm thinking that it's time to replace my plugs and wires. Will the package from sparta include spark plugs and wires or do I need to purchase separately?

MM's don't have plug wires. Earlier 4.6's had 2 (4) coil packs that used sparkplug wires. There are 8 springs that go between the (8) coils and the sparkplugs.

The granetelli coils only lasted a few weeks before I began sending them back. I have nothing but a bad tate in my mouth for their lousy customer service and the quality of their coils. The high out coils were the worst. I finally went with their "almost stock" coils. They last four months. I have heard similar horror stories about the MSD coils. My buddy in town had his MSD coils in for only one week before they began failing.................one week!

Buy the Motorsport coils and save money.

How long do OEM generally last? Have the shudder, AutoZone pulled a code P0305--Cylinder misfire detected- cylinder # 5. probable causes.. Spark plugs... ignition wires, coils... vacuum leak... injector fault... high or low fuel pressure... I'll be throwing a bottle of Lucas Fuel treatment and / or Seafoam in this week. Car has 125k miles, been sitting a good part of the last year. Should I change just # 5 or spend the money for all 8?

Also throwing a code P0316... Crank sensor condition... probable cause... defective? ... check connector and wiring to sensor... check trigger wheel for damage. Where do I start? My daughters Sebring threw the same code, it came and went.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
Ken

Ken, Phoebe has over 155,000 miles on the original COPs. Had to replace the one in #3 last year. Don't bother replacing them all unless you have 2 or 3 fail in short order.

Also, don't waste your money on Lucas anything. Use Chevron's Techron or Gumout's Regane FTW.

Ken, mine started going south at around 65,000 miles. They are hit and miss on mileage and age, there is no real answer on timeline for COP's

Crank sensor is probably starting to go as these timing chains hold up quite well. On the Sebring, I would start saving up for a timing belt, been there, done that. Check the service interval on the belt and make sure you aren't past it. They are not forgiving when they snap and take out all the valves.

The way they work is timing counts between the crank and cam sensors. They are allowed a certain parameter to be in sink with each other. When that threshold is maxxed, it will have trouble keeping timed and eventually you will get a no start condition. On belted cars, this threshold is pretty much braking limits of the timing belt. I would just replace the crank sensor on the MM and move on.

Ken, longevity can also depend on if you wash your engine and water gets past the coil cover seal. I had to change out two coils because of it. One at 35,xxx and another at around 38,xxx. bunch of grit and grime down in the whole.
