I almost exclusively use the FL820S on the Marauder; sometimes if Advance has a sale on Purolator PureOne filters I might use one of those, but it's a rarity.

It's junk, it has a really crappy anti-drain back valve in it which will only cause your engine more problems down the road. Motorcraft and Puralotor (made by the same maker) and Napa Gold filters are your best bet.

I wouldn't waste the extra money on a K&N filter when you can get better filters for less. Especially on a part that is thrown out every 5k.
A reusable air filter is a different matter.

Fwiw if you catch it at the right time you can get 5 quarts of mobil one and a mobil 1 oild filter for 30 at autozone and if you dont feel like doing it yourself i had my local dealer do it for like 15 bucks which i didint think was bad for full synthetic

Another vote for FL820-S. Used them for hundreds of thousands of miles never had a problem.

Yet again, another vote for FL820-S. Never had any issues with what's recommended.

The Motorcraft FL820S on the same shelf at Wally's is a far, FAR better filter and even costs less than the Orange Can Of Doom to boot...

Granted these are a PH8A and a FL1A but I'm sure the PH2 and FL820S look similar inside. So which one would you rather have protecting your engine.

Here is a shot of the ends, that paper gasket on the ends of the Fram are supposed to seal against a stamped steel spring or filter base to prevent the oil from flowing around the filter, rather than have a sold steel end cap like the Motorcraft or any quality filter and a rubber gasket on the base end.

You can't really see it in the pics but there are more pleats and they are deeper on the Motorcraft so it has about twice the filter media, which means it will trap and hold more dirt.

fram ph2....
You really don't care about your Marauder do you?
I wouldn't use a fram filter on my lawn mower.

I'm a fan of purolator pure 1 filters.
I'm a fan of purolator pure 1 filters.
I also use those or the Motorcraft...
Stay away from the Purolator Classic though, last one of those I used on a 2V had a bad anti-drain back valve and the engine clattered like Hell every time it was started cold...
