I was working on my car tryna narrow down this electrical issue but had the car on and noticed that the exhaust was sort of popping, the car was idling at right above 500RPM, and everytime the exhaust "popped" the rpm's would drop slightly, dont know if this is normal or not. O yea put hand in front of tailpipes and the left was pulsating the exhaust, while right was fine (steady flow) HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Sounds like a missing plug and/or coil or maybe a leaking injector.

Yup. Popping would be unburnt fuel lighting off in the exhaust. The pressure wave going back to the engine exhaust lowers the rpm a bit because that bank can't get all the exhaust out of the chambers. Bad coil, plug, or injector leaking like he said.

Most likely a coil on its way out. You have a 1 in 4 chance of picking the right one unless a light comes on, but it never seems to.

Which one should i try first?????

It is really hard to say.
Spark plugs are definitely the cheapest and are easy to replace. When were the plugs last changed and what brand plugs are you using? Either way that is where I would start and while you're in there I swap all the coils from the pass side bank to the driver side bank and vice-versa. That way if it is still there you'll know by whether or not the popping exh pipe swapped sides if it is a coil problem or something else.
If it did change sides you can either spring for a new set of coils or go through pair by pair swaping them side to side until you find the one that makes the popping go back to the other side.
In addition to a leaky injector a dirty one that makes that cyl run lean can also cause a miss and that popping sound from the tail pipe.

Hi ;
my car started to sound like pop corn popping at around 83K at idle.
and it would run funny, surging and loosing power.
The fix:
A complete set of 8 COPs. I bought the Accel Cops, and have had no problem since then.
Changing just one coil and hoping its the right one did not seem to be worth the effort.
P.S. I use autolite 103 plugs, have to make sure that the anode does not have paint on it, I had 4 plugs that had a painted anode and it caused a miss allover the place.

well i bit the hook on the hype over the pulstar iridium pulseplugs, so thats what i got in there now, that was back in may i changed those out,60K, and now almost 64K so maybe they just blew up in there, LOL
but as in driving really havent felt any difference in driving or haven't really noticed the "popping" like i did that day so for now ill leave it alone and how i dont blow it up

There is your problem, when the miss comes back replace them with regular spark plugs, like NGK.

You'll notice pretty much all the 5 star ratings are from people who just installed them and hadn't put more than a few miles on them. The 1 star ratings are mainly from people who left them in for a few thousand miles and then the missing and frying coils ensued.
