I ran a carfax on it. Accident reported in May '05. Damaged in a parking lot. Minor. Also shows a mileage discrepancy. Could be a clerical error. It was a one owner vehicle. Could be a great deal for someone!

Go for it!

It is a Trilogy equipped car. That's for sure.

It all looks good to me and does appear to have SS braided lines.

Listen to the engine closely when you start/drive it.

Pay close attention to the shift points, and check the oil and tranny fluid.

Good luck and keep us posted..

OK, just got off the phone and I have a deal pending. Heres the deal. They are a wholesale businees--sell 400 cars monthly. They did not put the car through there shop yet. They will go over all safety items, go over mechanical and repair or replace any items according to CT State law, also give a warranty. They will detail teh car too. They removed the nitrous system.
He is down the lot as we speak, looking the car over for me. I aksed him to carefully check the paint for any dents, dings, scrathes, hazing paint problems. Hes also checking the interior seats and carpets for condition. Car is scheduled to go in teh shop after Christmas---seems they dont negotiate the prices--they are set prior to going throught the shop?

Buyer be ware. To good to be true. How could any car dealer not know their business when it comes to pricing cars. Looks like it has been sitting leaves in the cowel battery posts protectors off. A nitrous car with a S/C the motor or tranny could easily be on it's last leg. Who knows if it's got the proper tune. I would have someone who really knows their stuff check it over with a fine tooth comb. On the flip side it could be a great deal.

^^^^^^^^

this is my concern. the previous owner must have known what he had, and am surprised he did not try to sell the performance parts or get a better deal selling it elsewhere. this outfit is selling for 10,9 which means they at least paid under 10, 9, possibly 8 at auction.

i'm out of state, 4 hr drive to check this out. i am asking some ford guys i know about "worst case scenarios". at the right price even having to do some engine/trans work might be worth it.

OK, Just got off the phone again. The back qtr window is broken (they will replace) and the stereo is gone--notice the hole in the pic. He said paint is about perfect, no scrapes on wheels, carpet and leather very clean. Heres how they do business--the car will sit in the lot until theres a deal on it. They DO NOT negotiate the price--once a deposit is on the car it is sent to the shop to be gone over, then detailed. Thd total for me to buy the car is $11,818, then I would have to pay delivery, about $500. It can be risky. If I could contact the previous owner to ask about the install, tune ect, it could be a great deal.

interesting-no price negotiating. i guess they start with one low, in their mind rock bottom price and stick to it. perhaps with time if it doesn't sell they'll lower the price.

I spoke with the owner--he didnt really car if I bought it or not--no hard sales routine..actually, didnt try to sell me the car at all. Origianlly the car came from MA, thats all I can tell for now. Its a huge risk for sure, if not tuned right or someone ran 200 nitro shots down the track. Last oasis info was at 26k miles, so it could have 30k hard miles on it?

How do I figure it...... IF you could still get a Trilogy S/C, that's 7k, by itself, what other performance goodies are on it? 10k for a motor and transmission, that sounds like a deal.

If I could free the cash up right now, I would consider buying that car, just ship it to Lidio, let him go through it and be done with it.

Everyone wants a S/C MM with all the goodies, it has to be a show car with low miles and they need the history, and want it for 5k.:shake: I will clue you in, you will have to pay for what you want, if it is a performance car, you WILL have to put money into it at any given time. AT THIS PRICE, IT IS A DEAL!!!!

Buy the car, but plan on replacing or repairing something, it is a great starting point, have you bought it yet?

I really thought this was Martins old car because the mileage is only 3000 more than his when he put it on Craigslist a short time ago, plus both have the braided cooling hoses which is rare. But Martins had a pillar gauge and only two gauges down low and this is none up top and three down. His car has reversed coolant colors than this and he did not have a custom hoodliner. I was hoping to pass his phone number to ya, but nevermind now.

You may not need clued in, we don't know that, less than 10 posts and the forum knows zip about you or the cars that you own/owned.

For 11k you would not be getting screwed.

I just thought you were a serious buyer, calling the dealer a couple times and all. Step the $$$ up another 10k, and you can find a super nice Trilogy car off this board. Or just find a stock one and mod the hell out of it.

I went and took a look at this. It does need a right rear window. The alternator will need replacing. Seems like boost is below 10psi. Looks to have had aftermarket radio with buit in sub. The car has NOS set up. The odomoter did read 59K. The trilogy looks to have chrome intake. The raditor fluid is orange and the supercharger fluid is green for those detectives out there looking to confirm previous owner. The back seat did have a red Simpson Racing harness. The dealer did say that the radio, alternater, and window will be taken care of once a $1,000 non refundable deposit is made. Let me know if this helps. The black paint looked good and had what appears to be metal flake to it. PM if there are questions.

According to a member that looked at it today, they could not drive it, just start it and listen to the engine run. Bumper corners had scrapes, right front fender looked repainted, grill was cracked. Bolted in racing harnesses, no radio, cracked window, nitrous removed from trunk. Interior ok, no dents, but some areas need repainted. Needs an alternator (at least)
It did have Baer brakes up front, trilogy blower, nitrous set-up. Not what I am looking for, I jhope it works out for someone.

As stated above car was OK not great but from what I could see, hear and smell nothing jumped out at me as overly wrong aside from ^^^^ listed in Ms. D's post.

I'm guessing previous owner was into racing so take that as a warning. Car had NOS but was removed. I saw no inter-cooler and motor had the plain aluminum cam covers.

Car looked OK underneath. No undo rust. Car had Kooks headers, I only saw one set of cats and mufflers looked aluminized so maybe FlowMasters. Didn't get down and dirty under the car as I'm not so spry anymore and lot was a combo of sand, dirt and mud.

Trunk area was messy and was missing some carpet pieces. I don't recall a spare either. Interior needs a major detail job and that would yield the next step in that department.

Car ran off battery pack for a while and the hand to nose sniff test yielded no oil or unusual combustion smell. What it did smell like for lack of a better explanation was sanded Bondo, Go figure.

Car needs TLC and I would be hard pressed to pay more but if you have time and skills or a guy, it might be a good project. Would definitely tow or have car shipped after purchase as motor may or may not be reliable.

That is all, carry on:)

wow, what a lot of useful information in a short period of time. this thread shows this forum gives a lot of support, given the limited production of the MM.

i too will be not be looking into this particular car any further. I am looking for a more clean, well kept example, with performance mods not quite a critical. I will be replacing a '95 MB S500, which is in good shape but just too much of a future maintenance liability. MM is a good leading candidate, since i need a large back seat area.

I was there today, the price isn't really 10995, it's 10995 +800= 11795

The 800 is their fee for fixing the problems: alternator, window and radio, maybe a battery but I doubt it they are crooks

Also when I went to talk terms they wouldn't give me the monthly payment terms and down payment amount unless I gave a $1000 nonrefundable down payment...... TOTAL ENTRAPMENT

In the State of Maryland I have noticed some of the independent [non dealer ] car lots have the 1000 dollar clause [ cash down] this is their up front commision and they do in house financing
[ Jack and LEGG financing ] A lady gave me a quote on a 99 low miler Tarus of 3999 cash/ If I finance, they want 1000 down and they finance 3995 for 18 months. . Now I have also seen two prices variances at other lots one with car inspected ,another price non inspected [**** isss]
I concur with CBT:D

I was there today, the price isn't really 10995, it's 10995 +800= 11795

The 800 is their fee for fixing the problems: alternator, window and radio, maybe a battery but I doubt it they are crooks

Also when I went to talk terms they wouldn't give me the monthly payment terms and down payment amount unless I gave a $1000 nonrefundable down payment...... TOTAL ENTRAPMENT

I have made my living in sales the past 35 years. I have read almost every sales/management book out there some good some not. Non professional sales tatics are not only insulting but are a reflection on personal & the company standards. In most cases this is a red flag when encountering such dealings. Be streight with your prospect they will be streight with you. People want to be treated like people.

True, that!

I had a friend in sales that had a saying, "People will do business with business-like people;" he was good at it, and prospered based on his integrity and honesty.

Tell me about it bro, the only satisfaction of the day was that I knocked over the Xmas tree on my way out.

I find that hysterical. Did you hit it with the car or just get out and kick it over? :D

$1000 non refundable deposit before they look at it. Hmmmm. Give them a grand and then magic issues arise that cause you to lose $1k and drive home empty handed. I may have to take a look at it. I even have a spare alternator I could throw in to test drive if they let me.
Right now it's looking like a red flag with this non refundable deposit.

Interestingly enough, even if it was dead, you could part that entire car out and make 20+k easy.

What a shame to let a fallen soldier sit wasting away on this a-holes car lot.

Let's take up a collection and rescue it. Bring it to Mo's to get ready for MV-10 and then race it at SSHS as the MM.net car.

Update.... I called back today, spoke with the sales manager, I arranged a dealer - dealer sale the car should be there Thursday for me to install an alternator and battery. It's a big gamble, worst case scenario I take off the trilogy for my blue and sell N/A if I'm in over my head. And now I could finally sell my 168k DD

I was just looking at it this morning... I wasn't sure what was different about the altenator, but from what I could see its a stock alternator with a different pulley.

Correct. That pulley needs to come off and be installed on the new alternator.
