Hey everyone,

I have read the threads and couldn't find a clear answer to my problem. Recently in the last few weeks my MM has missed the shift from 1st to 2nd when im above 2/3 throttle on take off, and by missed I mean if i stay on the throttle it will go to the redline and stay there (not that I have allowed that to happen). If im just casually driving it shifts fine. All other gears work fine as well. My question is do you think this is the beginning of the end of my transmission, or could it be an easy rebuild of that gear alone? I havent taken it to my mechanic yet since it's still very drivable. Thoughts?

Hard to tell. do you have an aftermarket tune from Lidio

yes i do. I don't race or abuse it that much on the road. when i first got it i was a aggressive on the pedal here and there, but now i don't push it that hard. I have had the transmission fluid flushed approx. 15,000 miles ago.

Could be as simple as a boost valve leaking by or the 1-2 accumulator seal leaking, or even the throttle position switch getting a flat spot. Either one is very cheap and easy to fix. Could be numerous other things as well, even low oil.. If you can make it do it on command, I suggest letting a trans shop at least perform diagnostics on it. This place is where I buy my trans parts from, if you just wanna guess at common failures.

Thanks for the link justbob. yeah like i said it only does it if im going fairly hard or WOT in 1st gear. I can hear the pitch difference in the rpm and can tell before it happens its going to miss the shift point and over rev so i just let back off and casually cruise into 2nd instead.

You have not said when the last transmission servicing was. Based on my driving style, I have been servicing the transmission every 25,000 miles.
If you have not serviced the trans at 42K, do it immediately. If you continue to drive with tired fluid the trans may have more damage resulting in a expensive complete re-build.
Drop the transmission pan and have the magnet cleaned. If you drive like most marauders owners, replace the trans filter as the filter fibers become coated and can restrict the flow, especially at high engine revs.
I have a another post of the interior of the trans pan with magnet.

He said in post #3 that he had the fluid changed 15,000 miles ago.
