I need help. My speedo quit working. Is it driven from the transmission?
I disconnected my ABS pump and removed it and installed a proportioning valve. Could this affect the speedo since all the wheel sensors feed into the ABS pump
Thanks

It should be tied together so the ABS module can sense movement. The VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on the trans controls the speedo. I can look into the diagram from alldata later today if you need further assisstance.

yes that would help very much. I am wondering if the connections run through the ABS pump and by removing the pump and leaving the big electrical connection just hanging there, this is what caused the speedo not to work.
I cannot specifically tie the malfunctioing speedo to the removal of the ABS. I thought it was working before but not sure.

Not a problem at all. If it does, I'll try to find a reroute for you. Something has come up tonight, but I'll dig into in the morning for you.

Sorry for the delay. Well, I spent quite awhile digging through the hundreds of electrical diagrams... ABS is not ruled out, but doesn't look likely. The speed sensor intertwines with a LOT of stuff! Number one, the cruise control system, they are obviously tied together. Air bags, yep that too.. The radio, just an input for volume control, but if you hacked the wiring and possibly grounded it, then that's another one. The ABS computer seemed to be all on it's own with just an illumination light for the dash.
I highly suggest you get a subscription to alldata as you know what you have done for your body swap better than anyone. I have saved countless hours researching the net for diagrams, torque specs and such, not to mention everyone here I have been able to help.
