My hats off to a friend of mine, Joe, who put these on for me at no charge. He just sold his muffler shop and we had to use his friends to put these on. Here are some picts from this past Saturday.

Tried your link and get "this video is private". Do you have to make it accessible to the masses on your end?

If you've got the 3 1/2" res-delete, don't think you'll notice any difference in sound, but the look will change.
I like the larger size, others don't; all a matter of personal choice.

Were the 4" extended the 1-1/2 inch pass the bumper, they look to be in the same position as OEM. Was there any drone on the inside that you notice?

Sorry for the slow response. Yes, we set them like the OEM's. It does have more of a drone but it doesn't bother me unless my radio is off. If I keep the OD off it goes away when at cruising speed. Many have set their's further out and they say that took care of it. So, if you are not wanting drone definately bring them outside of the bumper some. How far, I'm not sure. Rex, DOOM, and a few others have theirs out a little further from what I remember. Maybe they can chime in on how much it helps.

I think it was mentioned somewhere that it should be past the bumper/cut outs so that you are able to see the MEGS logo.
I would assume that this is approximately 1-1.25 in.

I set mines 1/2" past the bumper no drone at any speed w/wo od, and it looks great!

I have to start polishing mine up with one coat sealant & one coat of Hi-Temp wax before my install. 1/2" further out hmmmm!

My complements to you for doing some driving so the car is under load, as apposed to just sitting and revving the motor. sounds great.

I've got mine extended about 1 1/2" from stock position, no drone.

Another thing you can try to get over the drone is to extend the inlet exhaust pipe into the tip. This keeps the exhaust moving out the back of the car under high velocity and it won't quickly expand inside the tip which is what creates the drone. The rolled edge of the tip then further exacerbates the drone by swirling the gas.
The bigger your engine is the more force there is in the exhaust flow and the less you have to extend the tube. If you are running a stock motor with stock exhaust into these big tips you may have to extend them back a way.
To make the tube extension least noticeable, spray paint the inside of the tip black, then before install, paint the tailpipe that will be inside the tip black as well.
It's a common OE solution you will find when you start looking. Especially small displacement motors with variable valve timing!

Is there a particular brand that you recommend? Also would you say to extend the inlet how many inches inside the tube?

Is there a brand of tip I recommend?? Why there can only be one answer of course - MEGS!
If you meant to extend the tailpipe, anything the muffler shop has on the floor.
For spraypaint the cheapest on the shelf, its just to black up until it carbons. BBQ paint works great.
Or was it the wax question? BTW, spray on wire wheel cleaner works great on polished SS tips to get off discoloration but use caution as it does take the shine off over time. The good thing is you can always remove the tips and have them repolished by a professional buffer.

LOL... On the Megs answer for band. So how far in should the inlet go into the tips (1 inch or so)? Oh and not the wax question, I've got that covered. Another company (who I won't mention) has a product that's made for cleaning SS tips.

It's a big ass long tip so you could probably go 6" or so and not notice a sound difference. It would really be something that you play with and balance the drone against the volume increase you want. The farther back you go with the internal tubing, the less buffeting that will occur by exiting the car the fastest and the least drone you will get. At the same time though, the farther back you go, generally the quieter the exhaust will be.
On a lot of the troublesome type of cars I mentioned in earlier posts, they have actually brought the internal tube flush with the tip. But tha is because all the are after is a visual.
