OK I know I am probably the only person on here who let it go this long.
But while replacing the stock headlamps with Silverstars, I noticed
GREEN powder around the positive battery terminal. Well cleaned the post and the connector and put "the doughnuts" (felt washers) underneath.
Just a word of caution to anyone else who thought the cover over the Positive terminal was supposed to stop that sort of thing. Check It out !

Joe:
Thanks, that's good info..."out of sight, out of mind"...
...but I think the red plastic cover was put there more to prevent accidental shorting of the positive terminal to ground than to stop corrosion...

Joe, keep an eye on it, the corrossion is a sign the battery is leaking acid, or venting acid, it is not normal on a good battery to form this deposits, my MM. was purchased in July/02 and both terminals are shiny clean, all I do is check them, no more. My C/V has a 3 year old DieHard, again no corrossion.
Your charging system may be overcharging battery causing it to vent to much acid or make sure the battery is secured solid and not bouncing around. Javier.

Good points Thanks will check a LOT more often since I noticed after I had replace headlamps with 9007's I have been watching, and Now with lights on the voltmeter seems a little low. No big deal will secure battery and check for
problems. Just thought as posted here out of sight out of mind worth mentioning.
