Frank's on fire....Wicked! He plays blues, heavy metal, and improvisational styles; one of his notable tricks is playing (live) a lick as if it were played backwards, with the help of only a volume pedal and a delay...He plays a Gibson SG.....One of the Best, btw he's 57

This has been my driving song lately:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMhpZLBbX2Y
You don't know what i feel, i get behind the wheel
A feeling in my soul
I hyperventilate as i accelerate
Till i've lost all control
My speed becomes relentless
Contesting all my senses
White line appearing faster
Prompting death and disaster
My supersonic machine
Get out of my...
Fast lane, like a jet plane
Like a freight train, i'm driving insane
Addicted to the fast lane
Rushing to my brain
No time to explain, this is my domain
Addicted to the fast lane
I look into mirror, red lights are drawing nearer
They think i've met my match
But i shift into high gear, soon they just disappear
You can't jail what you can't catch
I hear the engines screaming

The first digitally mastered albums using the 3M Digital Audio Mastering System, which consisted of a 32-track deck (16-bit, 50 kHz audio) running 1-inch tape and a 4-track, 1/2-inch mastering recorder. So, this past Sunday night, was surfing through Amazon and Billboard websites looking for music; not anything in particular, just seeing what's popular nowadays since I've been out of the music scene for a while. (About 90% of the CDs I own were bought before 2003/04)
I stumbled upon 'dubstep' music and I gotta say, why haven't I discovered this sooner? I realize it's been around for awhile and I have heard it from time to time, not realizing what it was. Most likely started becoming more recognized (everywhere but US) around the same time I turned my attention away from music. It appears dubstep has not been popular in the US until about 3 or 4 years ago.
I ordered a handful of compilation CDs off Amazon that night. Today, decided I couldn't wait any longer and went to a couple stores to see if I could find any dubstep CDs. The selection was slim (not suprisingly), but I ended up buying a couple CDs by Bassnectar...hoping this will keep me happy until my CDs arrive in the mail, but I'm thinking not.
I know everyone won't be a fan of dubstep; those of you that are into dubstep have probably heard the song in the link below a million times already, but this is the one I keep coming back to. I would appreciate some suggestions of which dubstep artists/CDs I should buy. For those of you that aren't dubstep fans, go ahead and click the link anyway...you can mute the volume and just enjoy the pic for 4+ minutes....

Interesting, I have listened to a few Skrillex tracks. I do find some dubstep intriguing but I can't sit and listen to it nonstop.
While searching dubstep, electronic, electronica. I ran across one of the original electronic pioneers' tracks. Although a bit dated, still gotta respect the talent.

Larry Fast, quite a history in the music industry.

Thanks, boatmangc. There seems to be a LOT of Skrillex haters...I mean real, pure hatred of the guy. I like a few of his songs and can understand that he's more 'brostep' than dubstep, but that doesn't make me hate him...his 'hairstyle' is a bit goofy, IMO, but he is making more $$$ than me...lol.
Anyway, I'm still combing the internet, trying to find which ones I like and don't like. I've probably listened to only a fraction of what's out there, but so far I'm liking DatsiK, Excision, Bassnectar, and Noisia. Looks like I need to get with the times and get an mp3 since a lot of the songs I like are available mp3-only.

Yes, I have. I've got the CD you mentioned in my 'wish list' on Amazon. I received one of my CDs I ordered today. "I love dubstep". It's real mellow compared to the other stuff I've been listening to...reminds me more of electronica/trance. Not really something to 'jam out' to in your car...more like sittin' at home and hanging out with friends (or one specific person, if you get my drift)...but I do like it. I've got MOS Dubstep 1 & 3 as well as DatsiK/Vitamin D on its way.
I grew up when subwoofers were THE thing to have in your car (I had 4 12s in my Escort...yes, ESCORT) and was a 'basshead' for many years...DJ Magic Mike, Bass Patrol, Techmaster P.E.B., Miami Bass Machine, Bass Mekanik, Dynamix, Quad Force, etc (still have those CDs)...so I'm more partial to bass-heavy dubstep at the moment.

Listening to Ministry of Sound's 'The Sound of Dubstep' 3....on track 14 of disc #1 (22 tracks total) now and haven't had to 'skip' to next song yet...this CD is really good.
Listened to MOS #1 earlier....disc #1 is a bit disappointing...think only 5 or 6 of the 22 tracks I liked/didn't skip over. Disc #2 was better, only skipped over 6 or 7 tracks.
Also received DatsiK 'Vitamin D'...haven't listened to it yet. Maybe tomorrow afternoon....first day of class (my class is from 8a-10a), so gonna try and get to bed around midnight...and probably get up an hour later because I can't go to sleep...lol.
Now on track 15 of MOS #3 disc #1....Excision...holy **** this song is the bomb...
Black Country Communion. Crazy great band, they said they didn't mean to sound like a band from 1974, it just turned out that way.
Glenn Hughes, lead vocals most of the time, us old guys will remember him from Deep Purple and Trapeze. Jason Bonham, drums, not as good as his dad but pretty damn good. Joe Bonamassa, good God what a guitar player. Derek Sherinian, keyboards, his bringing it back.
This first one is a great tune, but you can skip to 4:45 if you just want to hear guitar playing that will give you eargasms.

Glenn is a monster, 60+ and still plays and sounds freaking awesome. Love the bass hook in this one.

So, got to listen to DatsiK's 'Vitamin D' album....in fact, I'm playing it for the 4th time now. I can't remember if I've ever bought a CD where I liked every single track...I can tell this CD will be in my car 24/7 when I finally get around to installing my sub and amp soon.
This CD is probably my #1 or #1a now (I have about 500 total). The ONLY knock is the very last track sounds a bit on the bubble-gum side, but I'm really nit-picking here. Every track is incredibly great.
MOS #3, disc #1 finished strong...if I didn't like the DatsiK CD so much, it would be my #1. Disc #2 was more mellow than #1, which in retrospect isn't a bad thing; it is a good compilation...I think there were maybe 3 or 4 tracks I skipped. MOS #3 is definitely worth getting.

In my experience the albums I liked right off the bat ended up collecting dust later, mainly I find if it takes 3-4 listens before it clicks it usually has good staying power.
Just my experience though.

Sorry it's taken me a while to reply...been busy with school this week.
I simply cannot pick one song as my favorite on DatsiK's Vitamin D album...all of them are really good. These tracks are the best (by a slim margin):
2. "Fully Blown"
3. "Syndrome"
4. "Bonafide Hustler"
6. "Need You"
9. "Complete Control"
11. "Napalm"
Throughout the week this week I have received the second round of CDs I ordered recently.
Bassnectar - "Cozza Frenzy". I've only listened to it once, and it was in my car (which sucks compared to my home stereo system), so can't really express an opinion on it just yet.
Bassnectar - "Divergent Spectrum". See Cozza Frenzy...mainly because it has the track "The Matrix"...been playing that track almost non-stop since I received it Wednesday. Will give my opinion when I actually listen to all songs and on my home stereo.
I also received Excision "X-rated" and Noisia "Fabriclive.40". I have not even opened these yet.
I'm now interested/liking Flux Pavillion (Bass Cannon...WOW!) and Doctor P...will most likely get some of their stuff soon.
I'm hoping I'll have my subwoofer/amp installed before the end of the month so I can enjoy them in my car as much as I do at home...going to be putting some miles on my MM then (Charlotte-Raleigh-Charlotte-ATL-home) and would love to be able to ride with a kickin' sound system pumping out these tunes!
