So I decided to hit up the local salvage yard yesterday and get some interior pieces off a crown vic. I got the passenger side power window switches and the plastic piece that surrounds the radio/cluster. I installed these pieces today and now my center clock, AC controls, lock buttons all around and I dont know what else wont work. I have gone back and made sure everything is plugged in and followed the wires as far as I could and cant find anything wrong. The radio works fine though. Please help me out as this is my daily driver and the interior is currently in pieces until I can find the problem.
EDIT: It seemed the problems began to occur when I unplugged the lights switch and dimmer switch. When I did, the car started beeping cause the drivers door was open but it never beeped for that before. So I dont know if thats related or not.

Also, the battery died cause I was listening to music while I installed the pieces. I dont know what that would do anyway.

Unplug each change3d item one at a time.
I suspect either an open ground or something is back feeding.

Do you mean leave one unplugged and plug the rest in and see if the problem persists?
Do you think it could simply be a fuse or relay or something simple like that? I mean its not like I cut any wires, just unplugged parts and replugged them back in.

If your battery is dead nothing will work......
Charge up the battery and see if that fixes it.

I have already jumped the car off and let the car run to charge the battery. Im not an idiot, thanks for your advise either way. These problems occur even with the engine running.

Well I have found the problem. I was looking at the wrong fuse number, after checking the proper fuse, I have found my problem. Thanks for your help.

Nice response. :shake:
How about being more specific, what year is your car, what year car did the parts come off of? Same model car? What else was changed.
Without specifics, you will get responses like "charge your battery".

Im with whitey. I didnt think to put the model year cuz there are only two and virtually nothing changed (to my knowledge) electrically between those years.

It would be dependant on if you changed parts other than those listed, such a a LCM, DERM, etc. While some will physically fit, there are some electrical differences with some parts. It wasn't clear what year your car was or the donor car was.

Ok, I see. Well the power window switches were from a 2006 crown vic p71. Are these the same as ours or could they be the reason my fuse blew?

It's usually a good idea to disconnect the battery before changing out electrical modules, switches, etc.
