If it was scrapped for a stated value policy, I can see it going away. I know there are a few owners that have theirs insured for 35k+...

Find yourself a wholesaler and pay the $200 yearly fee and you might have this car cheaper than the kit.

When Blackmobile totaled his MM, I knew a guy (wholesale auto buyer) who could get into the insurance auction and purchase this vehicle back for him. He succeeded in doing so.
There is a $200 yearly fee at this auction. You could be present or bid for it online.

I think any private party can bid not just dealers.

It depends on the state the auction is in and you still have to pay the $200.

Sorry to burst your bubble but it IS a dealer's auction house and you will have to enlist the services of a dealer to make a bid $$$, and then pay a annual fee to the auction house just to bid $$$, then a drop fee just to get it to the front gate if you win $$$, on top of the vehicle bid $$$. Ask me how I know? :D

Special edition, with burnt trim.
I would like to step up and offer to get the license or whatever it takes to be able to go and to bid on cars. That way the MM community could have someone to help save these Marauders.
I will check into what I will need. If anyone knows more on this please let me know.
As they go to junk yards one day they will go to scrap yards to be crushed.

Ya send me the info and I will get the license.
I used to go to car auctions with a friend with a body shop but he retired and fell off of the earth.
I am retired and need to find a hobby, besides collecting Marauders. Not a bad hobby.

How much would this go for realistically?
Anyway, somebody buy this and sell me the Supercharger kit out of it.
Seriously.

It is not just it, the cost of buying it, it is the cost of getting it off the lot and to someplace where it can be broken down.

That sucker is :censor:ed-up!! The Merc trunk emblem is the only thing I see that could be saved from that angle.
Almost makes the Trilogy DTR in the OP seem like a gem. I did the CBT search...11 MM's. 1 is so burnt-up they called the color "brown"?!?

Ding, ding, ding, that's the answer, 4-5k for the car, 1k to be able to remove it, then to take it someplace with lots of room and spend countless hours dismantling it.
Marty has all the above, and then the parts could be sold to members. Or.... everyone can get into a bidding war, then the "winner", may get the car, but you'll be so deep into it, there will be no "deals" for any parts buyers, i.e. slow to recoup your $$$ at that point.
Are any of these auctions even close to anyone? I mean if someone has a dealer/auction license it could be worth salvaging one occassionaly and parting it out or making one good one out 3 smashed ones. Shijack is going to end up with 3 of each color. ;)

Yes I'm actually fairly close to it. I have been in contact with the IAA and they told me to keep calling back checking on when the car will be auctioned. They're waiting for the paperwork to be completed by the insurance agency. The car is offered to the public for auction also. I have interests on planning to purchase this vehicle if Moe do not beat me to it lol. I will keep you guys posted.

That car is only worth $8, so no use bidding on it. You're looking at nothing but a nightmare, no need to bid
I'll probably only bid on it to say I owned 3 Marauders in a year so I think everyone should backout and I'll pick up a trilogy for $8, I mean car :)

Reality, 4-5k at the auction, I think everyone should jump on and run the bid up, that way, nobody gets a good deal.
If someone thinks they will actually buy this car from a salvage auction for 2.5k, your dreaming. S/C kit was 7k new, there are still a lot of MM specific parts on the car that will fetch big $$$$, front clip alone 2-3k.
And speaking of the front clip, you will notice the front fenders have no mouldings on them, that and the rear cover had obviously been repainted, someone may want to do a carfax on the VIN, and see if it was a previous total or repair.
Still, as a parts car, worth some good $$$, but you are going to need a place to strip it down, and that takes room and time, if you add in some over zealous bidder running the price up because they want 1 part, then you will be sitting on a pile of parts that you have so much wrapped up in that you will not be able to sell.
Breaking them down and parting them out is best left to someone with the ways and means +, your buying a pig in a poke, they say it runs, does it run with a knocking rod, or run like a MM is supposed to? You can be taking a bath real quick. Food for thought, that would be a chunk of money for someone who is just getting into the game to lose....
