I was thinking of converting my head lights over to Bi xenon projectors. I have been doing some reading on this conversion by www.HIDRetrofits.com (http://www.HIDRetrofits.com) & www.LightWerks.net (http://www.LightWerks.net) also saw some conversions on you tube looks pretty easy. I was thinking of FXR Bi xenon projectors or Morimoto H1 each 35 watt 5000k any thoughts ?

i used the Morimoto H1 conversion kit before. very easy to install. the FXR's will be more intense, with cutting holes in the back on the housing. I ordered my kit from http://www.theretrofitsource.com/index.php just due to the fact they have a phone # listed on their webpage and will answer the phone everytime.

no, on a different vehicle. I think once you do one, you can do any car. I dont think i'd ever venture out and try to do the FXR's on my own just cuz I know i'd mess something up and be pissed.

I've been salivating while reading and watching the retrofit vids. It is a definite must have. Please keep us updated on your progress. I'm so netvous that I will ruin one of my 150 dollar housings trying to do the job myself. I will do it soon though.

I'am going to make a few calls next week to see what projectors they recommend. It is time to pull the trigger on this one.

I suggest to anyone thinking of doing this to get a second pair of headlights to practice on. You can even use Marquis headlights as they are the same, just chrome. Actually the chrome just rubs off with acetone and it's back to black.
Surely you can find a pair at a junkyard for cheap. As stated above once you do one you will be able to do as many as needed.

This doesn't seem to be a difficult project. Retro fitting the FXR Bi xenon projectors vs the Morimoto's will involve some cutting of the head lamp housing. But what I read the larger deeper projector housing will give better & wider light.

I am considering getting a Bixenon Morimoto Mini Stage 3 Kit (H1) with a 9007? adapter plate, H1 Morimoto 3Five 5000K bulbs, LHD Projectors, Sealing Glue, Relay 9007 Harness, and Gatling Gun Shrouds. This first kit would be to go in my fathers 00 CVPI as I was far less than impressed with my DDM PnP kit for it and the light pattern also. It looks like I can get into this kit for around $300 for both lights, are there gonna be any issues with quality of this kit from theretrofitsource.com? Is this too much to spend on it for what I am getting? He barely ever drives his car anymore but having had the PnPs while the pattern was bad, he much prefered the percieved light output to just the wiring harness upgrade currently in his car. Any suggestions, thoughts, etc? I am trying to make this look as stock as possible, so these selections 'seemed' to be the closest...

You will need to be gentle when tightening the nut on the back of the projector once you have it placed in the housing. I stripped one completely out but retrofitsource sent me for free when I called them abt it. I opted for the gatlin gun 2.0 due to I was mounting ccfl rings on top. I actually still have 2 other sets of shrouds. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have during your install, just pm me.

Birch - I wonder if the gatlin 2.0 rings will fit in the CV housing...or do i need to go mini gatlin...I know some CV guys said the regular gatlin won't fit.

I put the 2.0 in a 99 ranger headlight housing with no cutting. Those are slightly taller housings I believe. Is be happy to measure mine and post so you can compare but even if you buy shrouds that don't exactly sit in the housing completely you can trim what you need off the shroud to make it sit on the projector correctly.
