Compass question....

When my daughters were here for Christmas, one of them noticed the compass in the overhead console and "Cool, I never even noticed that before." I said "I never even notice it NOW." She says "Oh, you never look and see if you are headed in the right direction?"
Me - "If the pointy end of the car is facing forward, I'm going in the right direction."
Peg - "So if you put the car in reverse, does the compass change direction?"
Me - :confused: :mad: :mad2: :censor: ...."Uhhh, no."
Peg - "You sure?"
Me - :confused: :o :( ...."No."

Mine reads same when I back out of the driveway vs pulling in, has no sense of forward/reverse... (yeah I wanna be sure you get to class)
