Hi -
Yesterday, I had to attend a meeting in a not so safe area of NJ.
When I pulled into the monitored parking lot (where I wanted to park), I met with two security guards.
I told them that I was attending a meeting at the site and the first directed me to a distant and not monitored lot (didn't want to be there).
The second guard looks at the first guard and says:
"He's a VIP - He's driving a Marauder"
And I got the choice spot in the lot.
It's good to be the king!
Any other MM experiences that anyone would like to share?

I got stopped at a road block and all the cop turned there heads. The gentleman that stopped me said "Is that one of dem souped up police cars. That is SWEET." I just nodded and said yea! He waves me on through without checking any of my credentials. Only had the car for about 6 months and lovin all the attention.

When I first got my Marauder I was a LEO and went to the Chief and asked him to drag race me. He brought up a new 2003 police interceptor set up for interstate driving.
We took off together and I started pulling away. At 126MPH the police car was about eight lengths behind me and at three miles I could not see him.
The Chief asked about the Marauder and wanted some for the department. They never did get any.

I had just started a new job and I overheard the head of maintenence in the break room talking to a couple of his guys. "Damn! You see that big silver Mercury she drives? That's a special order deal, you can't get that car anywhere around here. They only made like a couple thousand and they are fast! Outrun anything out there!" I got so many approving looks from the maintenance men. I felt like a celeb. And my office was extremely well maintained. LOL!

A friend of mine on the Police force rode with me one day to get gas.
I told him before we got there to jump in the pilot seat and get comfy for the ride back.
Before leaving the parking lot, I asked him if he had his badge on him.
"Yep."
I replied, "Drive it like you effin' stole it man."
Larry goes WOT and when passing about 80MPH, he yells, "I gotta get me one of these!"
Brings her down quickly, pulls a U-turn, WOT again while heading back home.
I thought Larry was going to swallow his ears from the huge grin on his face.

I got a "thumbs up" from a tow truck driver while I was at a light (in NAVCHAP's MM). I also have a cell phone pic of 2 Honda salesman gawking at my MM one day.

Driving the Oklahoma Turnpike heading to Texas, cruising a little shy of 90, when a trooper blasts by me going about 115, taps his brakes, I thought oh S***, got even with me , gave me a , and blasted on down the pike.........:D
My best marauder comment/experience happened in the same day at MV7!
During the car show at MV7 I met steve Babcock for the first time.
Steve Babcock and Kenny Brown were judging all the cars there.
Mine was the very last to be judged. After Steve looked my car over be walks over to me and says and I quote "THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I WANTED THE CAR TO COME FROM THE FACTORY. YOU HAVE DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB IN MODDING YOUR MARAUDER. IF I STILL WORKED FOR FORD I WOULD HAVE YOU WORKING FOR ME"
Bradley G and a few other members were standing around when he said it. So quite a few people heard him say it.
Here's the concept he did.

That comment meant more to me than any trophy I will ever receive!
I took home 3 trophies from that 1 show! 1 of them being 1st place best engine compartment.
Pics because it did happen! Steve Babcock & Kenny Brown with my car at MV7!

A guy pulled up next to me at a traffic light in a red Ford GT (new GT40, not the 'stang) with white stripes. He said, "wanna trade?", I looked at it and said, "no thanks", and pushed the go pedal to the floor:rock:

That ^^^^^ reminds me .....
Taking a 2nd Place Trophy :trophy: between two Ford GT Supercars (one White with Blue stripes and the other Titanium with White Stripes) in Class 9 Stock 2000-2007, 6th Annual UPS Car Show, Laurel, MD, October 2006. Definitely shows that the MM can compete with cars costing $120K+.
I almost fell over when they called my name. There were over 1,500 cars and 26 classes represented that day.
Joe Walsh picked up a 1st place in his Cobra that day and Mike Poore took 3rd place with his '93 feature Mustang "Sunshine". It was a hat trick for MM.Net members.

i purchased my car in pa from a private seller, and on my trip home to md, somewhere a little north of philly on 95, at night, my dad was driving maybe 500ft behind me. i got a phone call from him, stating that "some guy just flew past him, and as soon as he seen my car he started slowing down fast"....the guy thought i was a cop(tinted windows, police interceptor 'badge' on the back). the guy stayed behind me for a few good miles before i guess he realized i wasn't...

Hmmm, besides having local Police officers wave to me (where clearly they mistake me for a colleague)??.....
I pulled into a shopping center last year to pick-up pizza on a summer Friday evening. There were 4 delivery kids hanging-out amid their Hondas and Subarus. As I pass them, I hear 1 say to another: "WOW, that's a Marauder!" I think the fact that a teenager even knew what it was shocked me the most.
Another quick teenager story...I was just driving down the street last fall. There was a group of kids horsing-around on the side of the road. 1 saw me coming, they all hopped-up onto the sidewalk and they began walking in a behaved manner.
The car is a head-trip for sure!

I got a "Wow, nice Marauder" at a stoplight in Ct. when I was returning home.
My grandson Trevor, asked me last year when he was four, "Grandpa, is this a new car?" I've had my car nine years last Nov. and it's a "daily" driver.

The car is a head-trip for sure! Great story! Reminded me of something that happened for 2-3 years at the annual Thanksgiving in the Country House tour I go to in Seargentsville each November. Several of our friends come out from NYC to go along. I used to drive everyone in the Marauder. The local Boyscout troop mans the parking lot for the event. I would pull into the lot and stop to give the boys a donation. When I pulled away, they would all stand and stare, saying "Wow, that's a Marauder! Car sounds awesome!" After the first year, many of them recognized the car and I'd hear them say to their buddies, "You gotta see this Marauder!" They made sure I got to park well way from the crowds and told me they would watch my car. Then they'd all sort of bend down to see the tail pipes as I drove away with ( big smiles on their faces.)
The last couple of years I have been driving the Aviator to the house tour. I get absolutely no recognition now.....:depress: :D

Uuummmmm I gotta secret to tell :O .....I'm what you call a "teenager" lol haha:) but what makes me different is I know what a marauder is and me and my dad paid for our marauder half and half...I've been the one taking care of this car ever since, but in other words not all "teenagers" are stupid and immature..DAM who am I kidding they Are haha but hey I mean I like to have fun but when it comes to this car, I appreciate it so much not only is it the most perfect car for me but it brought me and my father ssssooo much closer haha;)

I was at one of the hotels on the Vegas strip (can't remember which one) leaving the car at valet parking and the nearest valet starts walking over to the car and another valet comes running up behind him shouting, "This one's mine!"

A Fun one was driving in Cajun Country down on the Bayou after Katrina. All the Sherriff cars pulled over to let us by and waived us through the check points. We were mystified as to why until we were told the local Sherriff's personal unit was also a Marauder.;)

on my way back to Phoenix for the holidays, I stop at some random Love's station in Albuquerque. As I pull in, a security guard comes up to me and starts chatting about the car. I go inside and some kid that works there asks about it.
he says, "the security guard said your car can beat anything out there. How much power does it have?"
I tell him, he says, "holy crap. I just bought an STI yesterday. If i would have known about those cars, i would have bought one of those."
I just left smiling and made the 14 hour drive even better.
