I installed LED lights under my driver and passenger door frames, I ran a relay. Power from Batt. Trigger wire from the light at the drivers side floor, Has a 194 bulb. now heres the Issue. I didnt think about the lights having the Fade out effect, so while they're fading as you can imagine loosing my 12volts slowly to the relays driving it crazy. Any where I can Tie in that'll have a simple ON/OFF 12v without the fade.. ? Thanks guys! Seneca

Why use a relay? LED's are gonna pull next to nothing for power, wire them direct and get the fade effect.

You use a relay in a circuit to avoid having the large load draw be pulled thru delicate circuitry or if the load would exceed a curcuit spec. If you were using std bulbs you might need a relay. As LED's have nil amperage draw, I don't see any reason to use a relay. See if FBM & others agree w/me. If yes, eliminating the relay will take care of your issue. Good luck! :D

The factory valet lighting doesn't use relay, neither does my valet lighting kit.

No need to use relays with anything that has LEDs as they draw almost no power on startup or when lit.

You can use the Door Trigger wire for the remote turn-on.

Door Trigger

Wire Color:
dk. blue and black/orange

Polarity:
- Negative

Location:
LCM

Note:
Blue is the driver door trigger wire, it is in pin 11, gray 22 pin plug. Black/orange is the three passenger doors, it is in pin 11, gray 16 pin plug. Use both wires and diode isolate each.

The LCM (Lighting Control Module) is to the right of the steering column.

Easier to use the courtesy light on each side.

Black = ground

Black / Light blue = positive

Thanks a bunch for your help guys, I kinda hate to take out my over engineered relay wiring job i did, that i was so proud of! LOL.. Thanks for all the input! I got lots of options now! sounds like ditch the relays #1 on the list.

This, for sure, is the easiest and least messy way to go.
