the block is 20 over the set the machine shop wants to get are a lower compression does it matter? i could be wrong but i think that 03-04's are 10 to 1 and the other modular's are all 9.6 to 1 or something they want $362 for the set any help is appreciated thanks.

Are you supercharged or plan to be? If not, then you definitely want flat top pistons which will give you about 10.79:1cr. 3cc at most!!! Are they Hypereutectic pistons or forged? 11cc dish would be 9.26:1cr. Is it just pistons? Are they balancing the assembly? What is your end goal for power? Need more info on what happened to get you to this point too.

"two quarts low on oil and I spun some bearings and wasted the crank.... it sits now with a dead cylinder"

Ahhhh... So you are getting a complete rotating assembly and having it balanced? We need details!!!

Here's 0.020" over pistons:

the 2 quarts low was the first rebuild back all stock it made it 60k then the cylinder went dead.
Assuming the heads were warped because they never got checked before that rebuild i sent them to mmr for a stage 1 port and polish they weren't warped when they checked but later they grabbed the wrong set of heads on accident and decked them anyways (then charged me for it).
while the head's were away i decided to pull the bottom end down and found the real culprit a ring came out of the lane and left a groove in the cylinder wall and also the majority of the main bearings were all wiped out and actually started to transfer the bearing material to the crank (new crank after the 60k rebuild). the block was bored .020 over and the crank was polished out.
it will stay naturally aspirated thanks to california :( and im just looking to keep the power stock and reliable as possible plus a good tune. i have everything to start and just need pistons rings and bearings. Hypereutectic is fine and balance idk wasn't planning but should i need to.

You may want to have the shop look at resources for the 03/04 Mach1 mustang engine, which, is exactly like ours internally. You don't need the rotating assembly balanced if you're not throwing metal around at 7k rpm and staying N/A. You WILL lose horsepower if you do not go with high compression pistons. I'm sure they can find high cr ht pistons 0.020 over if they look.
