So, yesterday loaded up MM on trailer and hauled from body mans home shop to Ford shop to paint Sat. morning.
(in the rush forgot to take a pic. or 3....)
Anyhow, will start this thread and upload pics on how it goes this weekend.
It will still be another 2 weeks before I get finished product.

One of the guys at Ford Shop in Columbia......
This guy does these kind of projects on the side. I think his next project is a 79 Trans AM, plus he has a 72 Mustang that I saw there too...
Very reasonable..... He stripped it down to bare metal, we added rear spoiler and hood.
This car was pretty straight when got it, just had the crows feet from hell on it (literly 3-4" bare metal spots on top of car.
I am in STL all the time. Me and Todd (Bodyman) chat regularly..... I will be in chesterfield Monday.

Sun didn't work well for me on moving day....
But here is some pics...
I will work on a youtube video as well (On a sunny day)
Sun started to shine after we unloaded it and was almost back in shed... we backed out and took a couple more....
If you have not seen Tuxedo Black, these pics do NOT do it justice.
(Go to a Ford or Lincoln dealership and look at it on a new car....)
The last pic, looks like a tree is a close up of paint, reflection shows up more...
Chad (bodyman/painter) was very happy with how it turned out, thought the Class Glass Hood fit great and top quality.
Again, another 2 weeks or so before I have finished product.
Told girlfriend woody was because of her, but its still there and she is not anywhere in site.... wonder why?..... me likey color....

A youtube walkaround video would really be nice to show the glitter. Almost like it's moving.

was able to get it off without damaging it.
So, why is there holes in the doors under the trim?
Gonna attempt you tube video...

I'm not sure, was like that on my Vic I had too, nice size little holes. I think it makes the car look smoother without them. I'll take mine off when I re-do my paint.
Nice, love the hood.

I was planning on leaving mine off after I painted it until I noticed the size of the holes. Both front and rear bumpers have the same line in them as the side plastics. I called a few companies to see how much they would charge to fill in the lines on the bumpers with a plastic composite and it was going to be $2k to do it and they couldnt promise that they wouldnt crack over time so I just put them back on and was done with it.... I think it would look awesome if it could be done at a good price.

It was there for the manufacturing process when the door skins were attached to the door frames, or so I was told, when I was at STAP in 98'

This guy did a great job, totally pleased so far... I am regretting telling him no hurry, want my MM back!

Makes it hard to take pics of anything else... very happy with hood.
Next is to figure out exactly best way to hold it up, keep reading that what they recommend makes hood not set right. May just do a prop rod for now.
See you in Louisville, I will be the one at your table..... if you will still allow it!

Yes Sir, that was the ones we were talking about.
Thats what I thought! Not sure are side mldgs have the small alignment pin on back side of mldg but since it is a door skin for all C/V,G/M,s some of them do the ones it is really meant for is the wide G/M large cladding mldg they some have.

Okay, almost all back together. Some door trim, all the inside door panels and wet sand the roof and it is done.
Took some pics, but car dirty and I hated to ask if could take to car wash to take pics when he will be finished friday.....
Paint job, body work, all of it is incredible...
Calling for snow in Mid Mo this friday and poss. sat. so if that happens, wont get it or pics...
I can summarize the Tuxedo black as 3 colors....
in the dark or low light, it is black!
in the partial sun, it is a dark, dark grey....
but in full sunlight, The sparkle is there...
And absolutely no orange peel, 10 miles deep paint....
a bunch of you asked and I Pm'ed back. He is cheaper than any other place, and I am completely satisfied....

I have only seen my car in the sun 1 time breifly.... right after painted.
But, let me tell you what I have already noticed. I have a 3 colored car. When it is dark out, this car is as black as they come. light, but no direct sunlight, it is a deep dark grey, full sun, well you've seen it on other new cars...
Now add wet sanding to that, all I can say is WOW!!!
hopefully SUPER TUX day will allow for great pics.
Also, headed to STL Wed. Bodyman and poss. Bolsen will see it. I have several of you that have interest in my paint guys quality. I can say, it looks great.....
