I want to j-mod my transmission but I do not want to drill holes. I only want to take out my 1-2 and 2-3 accumulators. I was wondering if anyone could like me to some articles or instructions for this.
THANKS!!:thanks:

Well... just follow the standard Jmod procedure, except don't drill the holes.

If you don't drill the holes on the plate your defeating the purpose of the j-mod.

That's what I thought too. Why even bother then.

I agree that it seems kind of pointless, but just removing the springs WILL gives you faster and better shifts. I've driven panthers that just have removed or broken accumulator springs and you can tell the difference.
There's also less chance of messing up if you don't mess with drilling the holes or anything. I can sort of see where he's coming from.

I did the other way lol I drilled the holes for faster and better fluid flow but left the springs...didn't want a hard shift lol.
The hole premise of the j-mod is to improve shifts and trans life, one shortfall of a stock 4r70/75 trans is the volume of fluid and speed of shifts. I do this for all 4r trans I rebuild for our cop car fleet service. By not drilling the separator plate and improving the volume of fluid available for shifts you are shorting the life of your trans. Don't do this, call Darin and have him do a main control for you or hell send me yours I'll do it for you PM me

If you're gonna j-mod your car go all the way. Unless it's shifting at wot you can't even tell a difference. The write up makes the job seem hard, it's really quite simple.

I agree with all. Besides, if you screwed up the separator plate (and you won't) they are only $30 from PATC.com
