IIRC they are the lungs.
You gotta have ethier a strong stomach or a very good sense of adventure to try Haggis if you weren't raised on it. Suppose that goes the same for Fisherman's Brews. (Salt cod boiled with hard biscuits, topped with molasses)

Haggis is no different, nor anymore adventuresome eating than any "sausage"

Yea I already have that one . If you want to go to a real haggis web site visit McKeans Meats out of Glasgow, Scotland. They are working with a company in Maine to make haggis here in North America, I have been in contact with them and they hope to have FDA approval in 30 to 60 days. Watch out people at our meets I will be a haggis eatting Scotch drinking fool and please be nice with the puns. Ladyhawke did not think she would like it either, but I had her try it when we were over there by the way it was on her Birthday too.
You have a good idea there Rich "The Haggis Diet" works for me!!

Yes it is a food product and needs FDA approval and the Mad cow scare does not help. They will be going with and artiffical casting instead of a beef one, even though traditional haggis calls for using a sheep's stomach. As I had said have talked their representive in the States and he told me it will be in 30 to 60 days. They will have a link on the McKeans site to their US operations when they are ready for distribution.

It actually sounds pretty good to me, but then again my favorite food is live raw quahogs.

Quahog a hard shelled clam found in tidal ponds and estuaries in the Northeast USA. Little ones (young) are called littlenecks, and taste the best raw, middle size are cherrystones, good raw, steamed fried, and large are called "chowdas", best in chowda or baked/stuffed. My wife makes the worlds best stuffies, come by and I'll show you.

Ahh haa! I eat raw oysters often. Never heard of a Quahog. Used to eat mussels raw if I can get them fresh enough, but put a few pounds in steamer with white wine and garlic - heaven!. Tough on the prairies though. You wouldn't want to eat the 'oysters' we grow here
Your wife's sound deee-lish!<p>
Petahey is like a pyroghy. Potato, bacon, cheese and sauerkraut are all common fillings, surrounded by a sweet dough. Bite sized. Pyroghys are boiled, petahey are baked. Pyroghys are topped with sour cream, petaheys are baked with sour milk and dill. They are almost pastry or bread like. A little bite of heaven!
There is a third variety, where the filling is fresh plums or berries, and they are boiled in whole milk. More of a desert though.
Krakauer is a type of White Polish sausage, almost a blood sausage. Bigos is fried beef and sauerkraut and lots of pepper.
The three of them together make 'comfort food' for me on cold winter nights.
