View Full Version : Chatanooga breakfast?

Marauder_Santa

At this past Saturday's breakfast, I mentioned to a few folks the idea of moving our Breakfast to the Chatanooga area one month. I proposed this because we have a few members driving a long distance from that direction and maybe we can meet them more on their turf. This may also attract a few Marauder owners that find Atlanta just to far to travel.

If we do this, I would like to find a third Saturday where there is a car show or cruise-in following the breakfast.

What are your thoughts?

Id be willing to do that. Chatt-town isnt too far and would make for a nice group cruise.

I'd be up for that schedule permitting

There's a Cracker Barrel near Hamilton Place Mall that may not have too much traffic (depending on the time), or you could hold it at the Cracker Barrel in Dalton (Exit 333 off I-75, two right turns if you're coming northbound) or in East Ridge (right at the TN line, exit 1B).

Email me if you need some local legwork - I'm in that area.

Hey Steve thanks for the suggestions. Do you know of any car shows or cruise ins in that area?

Hey Steve thanks for the suggestions. Do you know of any car shows or cruise ins in that area?

Not as of yet, but I've put a post on a local forum to see if anyone else knows of anything. Usually the car shows start back up in March/April, but somebody may decide to do something since the weather's so mild this year.

I'll add to this thread if I find anything.

This would be a much easier trip for me. My only fear is having to work at the last minute and miss it. The pix of my car were made in Chattanooga.

This is a trip that we would be looking to do in the warmer months when the car shows and such are in full swing. Just putting out the feelers now to get some feedback. Thanks for all the comments and help.

Our breakfasts are always the third Saturday of the month at 8am at cracker barrell.

It would make sense if we can find a third Saturday of the month when there is a car show or cruise in after the breakfast in the Chatanooga area.

I'm also hoping this attracts a few MM that find Atlanta just a bit too far.

So far there is some interest in this event.

Tnbigbody

Since you know the lay of the land and can research some cruise in and car shows in the area, it might be best if you guys can organize it and then invite us from Atlanta to join you.

In the mean time join us at our monthly breakfast each month on the third Saturday in Marietta Ga. at Cracker Barrell Delk Rd and I75.

Get something lined up and I'll do all I can to be there. Breakfast and a car show would be good, or just breakfast. It would be a great place. Tn. Ga. and Al. are all close 2 hour trip. I've all most talked my self into riding up there this weekend just to do something.

I just got Chattanooga as part of my region, so I'll be up there a few times year for work, including the 9th and 10th before Louisville. If I don't get a dinner set up for work, maybe we can grab a beer.

And if there's any car shows coming up, we will roll up there in force to show the flag and get some grub

Ya! What happened to this? Drummerboi, Tnbigbody, find us a car show to invade! One Saturday, breakfast, and car show, in Chattanooga. This needs to be done. Maybe a Ford Dealer Show or a Mustang Club Show. Worst case sanario a Mopar Show.

Yep, I'ld like to ride up and have breakfast. The work schedule might shot it down, but I'll always try to make it. The Southern Marauders have there breakfast every 3rd Saturday in Marietta Ga. I can only make it every 3 to 6 months. It's a long trip for me. Try and go to one of there breakfasts, meet them, and make some plans. I'ld go to Chattanooga just for a day trip. Come up with a plan, and post it up.

Heres what I've got so far:

There's a Cracker Barrell with easy access from I75 and a large enough parking lot so all the cars can park together. I've heard rumors of a show about 10 minutes from that, and I'm trying to get that confirmed. I do have a confirmed show in Dayton, but that's about 45 minutes north of Chattanooga.

Hoping to have the show confirmed by mid-week as to yes or no. If the show isn't happening I'll try to have info for other things to do around the area.

The Cracker Barrel is in Ringgold, I75 exit 348. I've spoken with a manager who has assured me he can accommodate the group without issue. I'll post up full directions later on, but just wanted everyone to know that we are working on it and I'll do my best to make it worth the trip!

Thanks,
Steve

That is the same date as the Southern Marauders 3nd Saturday Breakfast in Marietta Ga. What to do???? It is hard for me to get to Marietta so I don't go all that often. Ringgold won't be as hard to get to. I'll try to attend.

My understanding is that the breakfast will be moving up here from Marietta for that weekend only. Somebody please chime in if I'm wrong.

I want to attend. That don't mean I'm going to make it, but I'm going to try. I'ld like to see the Marietta gang there. Good bunch of guys. I do want to meet the Tennessee gang. There's a lot of new members in and around Chattanooga. How'bout I post up if I can't make it. As of right now I'm in.

Here's the driections for the Cracker Barrel in Ringgold:

coming from Atlanta: take I-75 north to exit 348. Turn right, then left at the next light (at the Chevy dealer). Turn left at the Holiday Inn and you'll be on the access road to the Cracker Barrel.

coming from Chattanooga: take I-75 south to exit 348. Turn left, then left again at the second light (by the Chevy dealer). Turn left at the Holiday Inn and you'll be on the access road to the Cracker Barrel.

The parking lot has a lot of open space on the left as you're driving in, so that should be a good place for everyone to park together without having to worry so much about other drivers.

I found one show that weekend, but it's tied to the Scopes Festival (the evolution trial, not the mouthwash) but it was a haul from Chattanooga and has been cancelled.

There is a cruise-in in Fort Oglethorpe, which would be about a 20 minute drive from Ringgold, but it doesn't start until 3 pm.

The show that I was trying to confirm I found out is in August, so it doesn't do us any good for this month.

Let me know if you'd like any additional info or you need clarification on anything and I'll do my best to help.

Hope everyone has a safe trip, and I'll see you Saturday!

According Steve, there is a show in the Chatanooga area on the third Saturday of August that will start in the morning. This would be a better date and gives us a month to organize it.

Bubba Hyde
07-16-2012, 02:17 PM
Given that there is a convenient show in August and nothing nearby in July, let's push this breakfast meet to August.

I'll post up more info after work tonight.

Well lady's and gents since we had made plans to come we did and we had a blast. Hope the scheduling works out better next time I try to go to an event for our cars. Not trying to be rude but I can't change plans the week or days before and not going to drive any further then necessary for what I planned. It would have been nice to meet up with the ones that could or wanted to thanks for reading my post gn

The breakfast will be Saturday August 18th at the Cracker Barrel in Ringgold, exit 348 off of I-75.

As a point of reference, exit 348 is about an hour and a half north of Town Center/Barrett Parkway.

After breakfast, we can take a short 15 minute drive to Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe high school for a car show: :burnout:
