Bryan Jones (used to be the magician at Grand Muffler) said that he can do a custom exaust all stainless steel excluding headers and tips. This includes Magnaflow Hi-Flow cats and either flowmaster or magnaflow mufflers.

This price is installed and out the door.

Bryan has done a lot of work for guys here on the board and everyone raves about his work. I will not take my car to any one other than Bryan for exaust work.

Do you think this is something he would ship? I was going to try and get some custom headers made with a 3.5" collector and 1 7/8" tubes or even 2".

I recorded his information. I won't be needing this done for another month or maybe even 2 so I will call him at that point. If he's as good as you all says he is....$1200 is a steal....literally haha

Why such a large collector outlet? Assuming you aren't running a blower or have 1500 hp natural, the area growth of that outlet is huge in comparison to the collector inlets. The exhaust pulses coming into the collector are staggered - not all fire at once, so you don't need an outlet equal to the total of the inlets. 1 7/8 primary to a 3 1/2 outlet is an area increase of almost 250%. When you grow that big, that fast, velocity quickly dies. Velocity is the friend of scavenging, helping pull along the following pulses.

If you want to get up to a 3 1/2 final outlet you are much better to use a collector with a "choke" or narrowing outlet and then a venturi cone to get up that diameter. It will increase velocity with the choke, create a suction with the venturi cone and greatly inmprove scavenging.

Diameters affect the performance characteristics - large diameters can max hp but often sacrifice torque, but go too large on either primaries or collectors, can can actually get worse performance than you started with.

Thanks for the explaination and if you just gotta know I'll be running a big bore stroker, wet sleeved, billet crank, billet rods, L&M racing pistons, race port heads, everything ceramic coated, and a Procharger F1A or C...not decided yet. Just trying to see what we can get these little engines to do on pump gas. Keeping as much heat away from the engine as possible. I'm not a builder so I don't know the engineering behind it all but what you say makes sense. I just don't want to spare anything on this build. I will take what you suggested into account when the hammer comes down on the exhaust.

If its $1200 for a full setup, i wonder what he would want for just headers. Hmmmm. SW and Cooks may have some compitition.

I am pretty sure that Bryan is quoting a header back set up.

David can probably confirm this since he spoke to Bryan.

OP says that much as the headers and tips are exempt.

My bad......Thought it said "Including" instead of "Excluding". Thanx Detroit Public Schools. LOL

Correct - Header back setup excluding tips. $1200 out the door all Stainless Steel.

Bryan can install headers, but did not get this price since it varies a bit depending on the type of header installed (shorty, kooks, etc.).

Bryan did my '03 Marauder, my '65 Marauder, my '06 Grand Marquis and my '03 GMC 2500HD 4X4...............He is the MAN!!(also did the 55 Nash and 63 Scout...I forgot)
The beauty of Bryan's work is that he custom fits it to each application. He's not a cookie cutter one size fits all kind of guy. Everything is tucked up clean and tight with no rattles or clearance issues.
To do it right..........bring it to Bryan.
