I have the beautiful fruit Punch I need to keep protected when not showing it off. I've seen the California car covers but just shy of $300 is a bit much for a cover in my opinion, but my opinion can be swayed. Any suggestions?

It really depends on what your purpose is. Indoor storage covers don't need to be weather resistant, and the fit doesn't have to be as exact. The choice of fabrics for indoor use is usually less expensive as a result.

For outdoor use, a cover has to be made with weather resistant fabric that costs more to produce. Getting a proper fit is important because it will help keep the cover on the car when it's windy. Proper fit means a cover "custom made" for the exact body size and shape.

The covers made for Ford by Covercraft work well in all weather conditions, and are made of NOAH fabric (gray color), or Weathershield (black). They have a price around $300.00 and are well worth it if you want the best protection for your car.

Ed, I bought the Noah cover from Covercraft and sent it back because the stitching was leaving scratches on the bumpers from putting it on and taking it off.
I went with the weathersheild, no scratching issues there.
A lot of the cheaper covers can damage your paint.
My weathershield is light gray. I had the same material on my Mark 8s cover it was light tan,
autoanything.com had the best price I found, and they will match pricing. I suggest the cover bag too.

I use California car covers on both MM. The high end cover for exterior use offers complete dust protection used indoors. They also fit exactly to the shape of the car, even the mirrors. I think these covers can last many years. Most lose their shape and elastic after not long. The only thing is the outside gets covered with dust, dead bugs and spider droppings. Sooner or later they will need to be washed. I do not know what effect that will have. Probably need to ask the manufacturer. Anyway they are the most effective cover I have had. When I ordered by phone I asked for a discount and they gave me 10%. They also included the storage bag which is semi useful since one car is always covered. Once the cover is dirty I do not like to compact in the small bag, preferring a larger box or plastic trash bag.
