I went to Fox Valley Hot Rods to drop off a deposit and check out the rear bumper support.
With the bumper cover removed the reinforcement is significanty damaged and corroded.
So the new one was ordered yesterday.
The question I have is, did any body remove thier body side mouldings ?
I know guys' like" triple threat" have gone beyond custom, but on an otherwise stockish looking marauder anybody got some pics?
I will ask my pal to post up some Nakid pics of # 93 with bare hood and topless too!
Sherm has the side molding delete option, badass looking.
He also has the fuel door delete option. Smooooooooooth.

Pics please.....
I'm wondering what it would look like?
Are the side moldings glued on??? So can be removed carefully without damaging the paint.

they are attached with tape, however there are holes under them in the rear doors.

Oh well, guess if I do this mod gotta fix the holes in the rear doors.
BTW what are the holes for in the rear doors?

We just had this discussion earlier last week and the consensus is that they are alignment holes they use at the Factory for the moldings.

As we discussed, are they planning to just paint over them?

You'll see them in this thread, holes are in front of rear doors, under mouldings.

I think the hole in the rear doors are for some assembly process.
Here are some pics of the body mod.

At MV9, Sherman's car looks amazing without the side moldings. The relocated fuel filler is super slick!!
Do it Bradley!! I don't think you will be disappointed.

One the black my side moldings are chipping. A body shop here will remove them and re paint tiem. I would like to follow in Sherns foot steps and totally remove them. His Marauder is sharp.

Hmmm... I think I'll have to do this one day!
Above the driver tail light is the new gas location or was the cas cap just placed there?
If so, I was just wondering if the trunk lid closed smoothly or what needs to be done!

You just need to put the cap in the position it is in in the pic. If the points are up and down it will hit the trunk. I will have to look to see if the factory cd changer will fit in there with the filler where we have it.

They didn't get screwed up in the removal process?
I think the car looks better with the mouldings. Some protection against dings too.

I will have more pics poss. this week, without the moldings. But mine are going back on. Tbone hit it on the head, door dings.... I would hate to see what and how easy door dings would happen, then wet sand it and the ding looks like a crater... IMO....
I will see if body guy has not put moldings on yet and will pull out and get you some pics... but it will be Tuxedo Black so ignore the Kick A$$ color.... IF YOU CAN!

I took the door mouldings off my ride - it looks SO much cleaner - especially with the Medium Titanium Metallic

I think it definitely has a cleaner look, but good luck with door ding protection. Since mine is no longer a daily driver I may go ahead and do the delete, I may be a bit paranoid though, lol!

Hey Chris, didn't you say there was no vitually no fabbing to this besides covering the hole? That the OEM filler tube could just be repositioned?

My problem with the door molding delete is that the rib line is still in the bumper cover

Thusly this gives the impression of "something missing"
Fuel door delete, that is hot!!

Yeah ,.. , As you know we have not had any sunshine since I picked it up.
I am quite pleased with how shiney and deep the paint looks.
They said wait 30 days and bring it back for a final buff.
He fixed my driver door lock too , I bought a new actuator to fix this and he said the rivit had broke and the actuator was lying in the bottom of the door.
All that was required to fix was a new HD aluminum rivit.
