Hey MM.net!
I just recieved my triple pod gauge from Lo-Tek today and I'm a bit disappointed. The shape and fit are awesome! It's the color that has me thrown off. I wanted "dark charcoal" to match my interior and it's not even close to matching any of my trim. Should I call Lo-Tek tomorrow? I'm thinking I should've went with the all black now an saved a few bucks...
Suggestions are appreciated! And if you'd like pictures I can post them tomorrow after work.
P.S. Would there be any sort of solvent I can use to remove the paint and make it the original black? Thanks in advance.

There has to have been a mistake. Contact them. Mine is spot on for dark charcoal.

Agreed. Fastblackmerc and I provided OEM A pillars (his in Dark Charcoal and mine in Light Flint) for Lotek to color match against, so unless there was a mix up on your order, the color should match OEM.

When I ordered mine. Mine was sent to me painted in the dark charcoal when I needed light flint. I called them the next day. I was told to ship it back. A few days later. I recieved the correct color which is spot on and a check to reimburse my shipping charges. I would order from them again without hesitation.
Just call them.

Ahhhh, that could be the issue. My bad, I was thinking MM, CV may be different, but if he can ship a trim piece in the correct color, they will match it.

Well, I just got off the phone with Dennis from Lo-Tek.
He'd like me to take side-by-side pictures of my a-pillar and the triple pod gauge.
The triple pod gauge is far too light, so I'm thinking it may be a light flint one? I can't be too sure as I haven't seen both to compare.
Worse case scenario would be sending my a-pillar back with the triple pod gauge so they can match it that way. He also offered to reimburse me for any shipping costs / repaint it for free. Definitely no complaints with their customer service!
I'll post the side-by-side pictures here as well later tonite.

Dennis wrote back to my email within a few hours (after hours from the time sent)
John:
Yeah, that color is way off. Send it back with a color sample so I can make sure they color match it correctly. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Best Regards,
Dennis

Really? Cool! Then make my skinny non-existant azz a double pod! Just feel the triple is too much.
Or as Drew would say.
Will they ever make a double. LOL

I just dropped the package off at the post office. I included my original a-pillar (as I had a spare laying around) so they can match it.
I'll let you guys know! Despite all this, I still wouldn't hesitate to order from them in the future.

So you're the first to order for a Vic? Hmmm... I'm sure Lotek could sell a few more on CVN if that's the case.

I'd like to see a one gauge pod (I don't like the add on ones) A pillar. What are the other two for? Trans temp? What else?

That's what I'm thinking. Lo-Tek will be able to match an OEM color, but needs a sample to go by.
I'd like to see a one gauge pod (I don't like the add on ones) A pillar. What are the other two for? Trans temp? What else?
Mine is set up with:
Top: Fuel Pressure
Middle: (Aeroforce twin platform) Coolant Temp - upper, IAT - lower
Bottom: Boost
I've been tracking coolant temp for about 8 months, will polly change to A/F ratio, trans temp, or something else down the road on one of the Aerforce platforms. I may even go to a second Aeroforce which would enable me to monitor five parameters with three gauges.

I have the MM gauge pod which will house water temperature and oil pressure
The a-pillar gauge pod will house (from top to bottom) boost gauge, wideband air/fuel, and fuel pressure.
I don't need trans temperature because...well...there won't be an automatic in here for too much longer!
