With all the talk that has gone about it and planning on installing an audio amp figured I should go ahead and do it.
My question is in regards to the battery post terminals which would be the best to use. I plan on using 0 or 2 gauge for the big 3 and a 4 gauge wire for my amp setup.
Any recommendations on a positive and negative positive battery terminals would be great.

Also would it be better to use a manual reset circuit breaker instead of a ANL fuse and if I am running a stock alternator how many amps should I go with?

really you can go with as many amps as you these stock alternator are pretty strong but just might be holding some power back

I've been out of the whole car audio game for way too long after moving over to vehicle electronics and wiring.

If you ever find the terminals you do like shop between these three websites and purchase from the cheapest of all of them, thats what i do with ALL my audio needs. I personally like onlinecarstereo out of all of them. Usually the cheapest. Crutchfield is just way to expensive for my likings.

and for the fuse. I run ANL but I've seen a bunch of circuit breakers. Its really whatever you prefer. It be safe to run a 120-150 amp fuse. I forgot what the stock alternator is, i think 120.

I was reading a lot of reviews about their terminals and they were all pretty bad.

I used a 100 amp breaker on a system i had in my old CV and never threw it. it was nice to just flip the break switch anytime I wanted to work on something or drain the 5 farad cap. i think monster cable made the break I had. i still have it just not using it.

Would it be ok to just run 4 gauge for the alternator and grounds? I don't really want some big ole 0 gauge lying around my engine bay.

How did you get your Redtop to stay in place? I had a yellow top in mine that I could not get to stay in place and ended up taking it out(It was dying anyways.)

What are you guys running that requires that kind of a hideous huge wire? And WTH is a Big 3 upgrade? I'm bored and hate being left behind, should I do it? :dunno::banana2:

You can get aluminum holders for Optima batteries all over Ebay, I used one on mine at it turned out great. Well worth the money.

Mainly only needed for large stereo systems and when upgrading the stock alternator to a higher output model.

I've used these guys (it's the same company) on multiple occasions in the past. Never had any problems and they have some killer prices.

FBM on the pic of your circuit breaker, what is that wire that is right below the main red power wire on the circuit breaker?

Now on the circuit breaker you go from terminal on the alternator to a post on the circuit breaker...then from the other post on the breaker to the positive battery terminal correct?
Sorry just never used circuit breakers before.

Yes. Think of a circuit breaker as a resettable in-line fuse.

Apart from being larger wire, any downside to running -0- gauge wire for both the positive and grounds?

Nope, just more path for the current to flow!

What you want is fine strand wire.
The bigger the gauge the less resistance.
