Hey remember that thread with the computer fan supercharger?
Electric superchargers can be done and this is how you do it.

BTW I am not claiming this is viable for our cars, but a smaller displacement 4 or 6 can use a modified starter mower connected to a screw type Eaton or something like it.
To boost through the powerband for a 1/4 mile duration on a small block v8, it looks like a 50hp electric motor and 3 high end batteries are needed. That's alot of weight and a big hood scoop.
On the other hand maybe not such a bad option on a small 4 cyl with say a purely electric AC system (a beefy alternator and battery) As mythbusters say, seems plausible.
DTR's come with these from the factory!
Doesn't that explain alot!

Wait, I thought all DTR's had 4 cyl. in them..... DOOM, isn't that correct? never see a burnout like a Black DOOM MM in a DTR????
You saw my thread on my DTR? it was a DTR Kitchenaid Mixer!!!

I took mine off, and replaced it, we should run for titles, that'd be fun.:D

Would have no problem running you for titles at all!
But what would I do with your car after I win it???
Maybe RECYCLE? :hmmm:

You know, I was wondering what I would do with another Marauder, maybe send it to Macco and paint it purple:rolleyes:. I'd just have to source a set of yellow wheels to complete that package.:D

Just make sure that you wire them correctly, if you get it reversed it kills horsepower and makes the idle really rough!

A motor like this is more what could work well on a 3.0L and down. 40hp electric car motor. Lightweight, powerful, 12v.

Wouldn't that be funny if electric cars failed but ended up paving the way for electric blowers? Could be the next step in efficient engines that can punch when asked. If they can way overbuild/oil a dinky 4cyl that is.
2k (screw type+ motor) if your electrical system is up to it, puts those silly $200 kits in perspective.

Mel Gibson had an electric-motor driven supercharger on The Last of the V8 Interceptors...he turned it on and off at will with a switch on the dash... :D

I think Mad Max's blower was mechanical but had a electric cutoff switch. Like this replica.
